I have new VMC modem + router from bsnl and now i dont use bsnl anymore.. i tried configuring it. thing is dere is no mac connection setting in it.. there is IPv4 type connection and IPv6 connections i dono how to configure it with reliance net i'm soo disappointed with it.. please help me configure reliance net in dis

Model number is : VMC AN1020-21

It finally worked. Thanks a lot for all the help. Now atleast, I wiill hopefuly not regret switching to Reliance.

Use Billion as standby.

Please Post screen shot of Device Status when connected to Internet.

Also ipconfig /all data.

I could not see "MER" option in the Billion" 5200 series modems.
Your Billion unit : are you using the USB Port ?

No mention of using "MER" setting in Beetel 450BXI.

i dont have option to chk config page of billion modem.. can u give me ip which i have to enter to see config page of billion modem? den i can get device info screen shot.

I tried 192.168.1.1 bt it didnt showed me device config page. what can i do get device config page? also wat command i need to use to copy paste the ipconfig /all data?

also i'm using it via LAN.. billion modem which i have dont have usb port in it

If you got ipconfig /all data( when connected to Internet)
The default gateway will be the IP address of modem
( usually 192.168.1.1 )
Also shows DNS values : ( of Reliance)
The Ip address of your system.
In context menu select " Select all" (Mouse click)
open notepad
in Blank page select "PASTE"
Data which appeared in command page should be
saved.
The same procedure to copy/paste here.

check
myIPaddress.com: What is my IP address? How do I find my IP address?
say 123.236.xxx.xxx ( can be IPV4 address also )
retype it in browser address bar.
You may get a window to access the router pages.
try admin admin

Better to try all experiments in the other modem/router !

If RESET is advised, and still 192.168.1.1 cannot be accessed,
and If Reliance has set different default ID and PW )
You may lose Internet connection also :

Wait for a day or two. expecting feedback on Modem router
zte zxdsl 531B which has "MER" option.
( Checked : Billion also does not have "MER" option ).

For reliance/billion, it is something like 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.2
Don't remember the exact IP but try some of the combinations without connecting the telephone line to the router to be on the safe side.

One more thing - you can't get the router login page if the router is in bridge mode.

Billion has dynamic mode, btw.

I think Reliance applies a different configuration...

If Reliance has set the modem settings, so that user cannot access menu pages, and default ID and PW are also changed, unable to advise "RESET" the Billion modem/router. ( Internet connection may be lost ).

Very few Reliance user/s have given any worthwhile input to use in WIFI mode .
with some other modem/wifi router. ( except your guide )

One possible solution, IS to to use WINDOWS 7 with a wlan adapter in system 1 ,
connected to Reliance
Install application "connectify" and make System1 as WIFI access point.
( No wifi router needed )

use billion. connect to Reliance.
remove Rj45 from computer end and connect to LAN1 of VMC
Another rj45 from Lan2 of VMC to computer.
( all settings in mode default values in PPPoE mode or "Bridged" mode. )
