So are you saying ur gettng these problems because of torrent downloading?

    If yes

    Option 1

Use utorrent its better with security

    Option 2

Download peerblock Works like a firewall Nothing gets in nothing gets out witthout your permission(with allowed HTTP blocking)

Btw i have 600 kbps day and 1 mbps night combo plan

    Tell me your system configuration...
    utorrent version...
    SNR & attenuation...

I've heard of these kind of problems in Reliance.Used to happen to me sometime when I had cable connection..
I usually solved it by cleaning the cookies...or restarting the modem..

    See this thread

http://www.indiabroadband.net/broadb...they-mean.html (SNR Margin and Line Attenuation - What do they mean?)

Clear all your cookies and clean the registry...

    Feedback Anyways...

P.S. I've come with this great plan
but you will have to take a trial & error method as I've no way to test it accurately.

Experimental : Create Restore Point First
I don't know if this is gonna work

1.Download the script file from attachment(Unrar it)
Open it in notepad add your user name & password(only the first one)
Save Check if its in the *.py extension.
    2.Download Python-2.1.1.exe (not latest) http://www.python.org/ftp/python/2.1.1/
    3.Install
    4.Open task scheduler
5.Add this script as a running file
6.Set it for running every X mins (X=your idle timeout duration)
7.Run the ask in a loop
    8.Demo:Observe if the problem persists

I had studied your problem and tried to understand it...

This problem is with your modem configuration. Time out in modem is set to be around to 5 min as you described in your problem that your internet log out if you remain idle for 5 min.

Resolution 1 : reset your modem by putting pin in hole in back of modem

    and do all setting again.

Problem : when you are using yahoo messenger and you are unable to surf internet in browser.

Resolution : This happen to me too and i am not able to surf internet in browser when i am using camfrog ( chat software work behind firewall ). it looks like my net is log out but my camfrog keeps working .

To use internet again in browser , ping your IPV4 default gateway
    command line :
    step 1 : start> run>cmd
    ping 115.252.32.1

    step 2: ipconfig/flushdns

Then you are able to use net in browser too.
