    Default Relance UL Plan FUP?

Can anyone tell me whether reliance unlimited broadband has fair user policy?
Are there any other broadband providers who do not have this FUP policy?

Reliance Broadband doesnt have any Fair Usage Policy. But the Pppoe login system sucks. If you are idle for 30 mins you will get logged out and in most of the cases you will receive a "session terminated abruptly" message.Keep reliance as your last choice.Speed of okay, but whats the use when u will get logged out at intervals.

You can do this setting to make your connection alive for 4320 min

Step 1> Disconnect your RJ45 cable from modem (Attached cable from splitter)

Step 2> Go to network connections then open properties

Step 3> In internet protocol version 4 do this setting

    Ip address: 192.168.1.1
    Subnet mask :255.255.240.0
    Default gateway: 192.168.1.1

    Preferred Dns server : 124.124.5.141
    Alternative Dns server : 124.124.5.140
    Click Ok,Ok

Step 4 > Open browser and write 192.168.1.1

Then your Dsl modem will ask for Username and Password

    Username : admin
    Password : utstar

Step 5 > Click on wan

    Step 6 > Find 0/35 br_0_35 . click on edit

    Step 7> "ATM PVC Configuration
This screen allows you to configure an ATM PVC identifier (VPI and VCI) and select a service category. Otherwise choose an existing interface by selecting the checkbox to enable it. "

This type of message will appear , click next

Step 8> Select MAC Encapsulation Routing (MER) , then next

Step 9>Select .. Obtain an IP address automatically
    Obtain default gateway automatically
Obtain DNS server addresses automatically & click next
Step 10 > Select Nat, firewall, IGMP Multicast,WAN Service and click next and save it

Lastly a window will open where you had to save/reboot the modem and again attach the RJ45 cable to use internet

After 2 min you are again ready to use internet

By this process you can use your modem as a firewall and it is safe from hackers as they will not be able to access your data as well as internet.

    Thanks and regards
    Saurav

That was a false info. Auto logout happens once in 24 hrs.
