Its not the company's fault and they are a private company and they will have to decided wether to set up thier infrastructure in your area or not depending up the financial viability. If a company believes they wont get enough customers in your area and wont be able to make profits then they wont set up their cables in that area and I dont blame them after all they are in the business to make profits not lose their investors money.
This is true for every other company be it Tata, airtel or any other broadband provider for that matter. I live in Delhi and there is no adsl connection available in my area apart from Mtnl which is a government run company. Private companies dont want to set up an exchange near me just to provide me a 1500rs per month connection if there is no more demand.
All in all we cannot blame Reliance, Airtel, Tata or any company for that matter. With time as demand increases in your area they will surely come in and start providing services in your area as well.

as u see setting up exchanges for adsl connections is quite a different issue from putting up distribution boxes in locality.. its much cheaper in metro ethernet coontions to expand the provider base...

where as in adsl its always distance dependent from exchange .. more the distance lesser the speed... where as in metro ethernet i believe there is noa area in kolkta where relnc dosnt have their fibre... just what they need is to set up distribution box es to provide connection ...

and when someone starts a business if you start to think of proffit at the frst day god forbid how will he survive ? it just not make sense...

btw they also need to start to market their wireline section also ... very few realy knows that they exist in kolkata...
