Thread: Best Router or ADSL Modem+Router for Reliance BB

Hi,
I am looking for a ADSL Modem + Router for reliance broad band connection. I have one specific requirement that this should support 4 DNS servers!!!

The reliance folks given me some "Billion" ADSL modem. I was having an old "Netgear WGR614" wireless router. If I connect directly to modem, I usually won't get any error. But if I add my router in between, once in a while I will end up getting "name not resolved". I have extensively browsed through this site, but couldn't get a direct answer.

Some how, I feel, the issue is reliance modem has 4 DNS server addresses, but the Netgear, I can configure only 2 DNS server addresses.

So I am looking for a ADSL modem+wireless router, which can configure 4 DNS servers.

Please help me if you have any information.

What are the DNS values entered in Billion modem?

( Also check signature link Beeetel450TCI for reference )

What you enter in Netgear "don't care"!!!

In computer:
Start RUN type cmd Ok
New window
type ipconfig /all
check the dNs selected .
In tcp/Ip properties You enter 2 dns values
advanced
next page you can enter alternate values.

If you want the best DNS details for your system
check namebench application.
Google dns 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4
Opendns ; 208.67.220.220 and208.67.222.222
Each ISP give. their own DNS.

P.S.; Is there any way I can do this my to Galaxy Tab also :-)

Confirm laptop working in Wifi mode.
Enable DHCP in Billion modem( give model number )
Check whether same SSID appears in your Galaxy Phone.
( as seeen in laptop)
