    Hi SpArK,

this one is really hard to answer for me, because reliance is the only internet provider I tested in India.
Nevertheless, since on one else answered so far, here my experience:

    I have a 300 kbps unlimited plan.
I download files with about 100 kbps (if connection works).
I can phone to Germany in good quality using VoIP (if connection works).
I can use my own router to connect to the internet and use WLAN and VoIP. This is a little tricky since reliance uses a very nonstandard login procedure (see other threads in this forum).

So far the good news. The bad news: The connection is often broken, especially at evenings (about 7 pm to 11 pm). In the last two weeks this happened at about 7 evenings to me, so I'm not happy. I called the support, and the answers (like the internet is down in whole India) were not really helpful. They also sent someone to check the modem, he came during day time same days later, and the connection was perfect at that time. He complained about my setup (routers are not supported officially) and suggested to connect the PC directly to the modem in case of problems. I don't think that this will help: Why should my setup work fine during the day and brake in the evening? I think that reliance as not enough bandwidth for all the traffic in the evening hours and that's why it brakes.

I'm here in Bangalore and really interested in other experiences.

300 kbps flat plan is good for downloading .40 to 110 kbps speed is there in 300kbps flat plan. the max download speed in 75kbps fat plan is only 13 kbps.
reliance disconnecting their users log in 2 or more times a day.Usually 1 am and 3pm.so we have to log in again to continue.

    Cool restricted downloads

    Hi,
I have the reliance 400kbps plan and I just discovered that the maximum download speed I can get is 50kbps. I called up the reliance call centre and they explained the formula to be 1/8 of the browing speed. that is you take any plan, your download speed will be 1/8 of it.

would like to know how a 300kbps guy got a 100kbps download. any special tool or site?

    Cheers
    Praveen.
