Default Reliance Wimax really sucks.

Hi Guys,

I m a victim of the reliance Wimax plot. And I have summarized my experience so far with them at the following link:
Reliance wimax was supposed to be cheaper then adsl and cable as it does not involve any investment on the isp's part for last mile connectivity as wimax is wireless but reliance wimax is charging a fortune just because there is no competition.

Angry Reliance cant offer worst than this

Hi,

Reliance has again standup to its bad name. i m reliance wi-max customer since last 4 months, n faced tremendous amount of problems. i had took connection because of expectation that i can get better services, but it was totally opposite. a long chain of events starting from getting connection which took 15 days of frequent recall(answer was sudden surge in demand, so no equipments available). after getting connection, it was frequent dis connection then once get connected , speed was very slow(was getting at max 80 kbps for connection of 300kbps). then after 3 months, i could not access service at all, it was showing unidentified network. customer care service is more worst than that, after calling for 4 times they connected me to technical dept, which could not solve my problrm but promised to send a engineer( so called) to check it. after 2 days that guy(i wont call him even engineer) came, n coulnt understood the problem, so went back after promising that he will comeback after 3 days. he came back on 4 th day.. did something(donno what) went to see reciever(antena) on terrace and told that he is going to see the "tower". he went n after that he never returned. after frequent call to call center the standard reply was it will start with in 24 hours. but those 24 hours never ended. When i asked to connect to some senior person in call center, they put me on hold, n in rage i hold the call for 56 min, i called again after my petience gave up the call went to some new person getting same reply, agin asked to connect to some manager.. samething happend.. call on hold for an hour.... i again called customer support n this time challenged that poor call center guy to connect me to manager.. but that manager didnt had guts or courage to speak to customer. since 11 days i m suffering from the connection still no action has been taken. This is worst anybody can offer to its customer.

I have requested all those who are even thinking of taking reliance broadband connection to please please resist yourslef from getting mentally harrassed.

Hummm.. Sounds interesting, but has the experience with the majority been similar or are there any happy customers of reliance wimax out there? We would love to hear from those as well who are happy with reliance wimax.

this happens most of the time with brand new technology!!as far as i know, even us is not getting wi max till mid 2008!!
let the technology age a little!!but, i do blame reliance for putting out sumthing new & not even train their "engineers" & give extremely pathetic speeds of 300kbps when wi-max can offer much much more for very less cost to the operator!!

I cant believe M doing this .. i personally dont like Reliance .... never even used their phones ... finally had 2 try it as the cable mafia here does not allow anything else

But with me the experience was good ... touch wood ....

I called for booking ... the guy asked me 4 a week but it was done in 4 days....

i had some problem (upload was 0kB) after a month .. i called the CC they said i will get a call tomm ... i did get ... but i was not at home so i was called again n the guy told me that net will b fine after 10.30 pm...

i tried at 11 and it was not working i called the CC again ... they promised me a call nxt day ... i recived 1 early morning at 8 am that the network is fine now . . i was at work ... went home ... chked the strength .. did some adjustments with antenna... n it was fine...

Not a very bad experience ...

I mean with Reliance dats kindda good ....

Once the issues are sorted out you get quite stable and decent speeds. As usual though the customer care guys are ok considering bsnl where they don't even pick their phones on weekends.
It all depends on the deployment. If its done well everything will work fine and can support itself. If reliance wants to prosper let them concentrate more on proper deployment.
Also I am not sure what's the stance on linux problem by them.. That is really bad.

I hope they allow me 2 use Linux soon .... its pretty boring 2 use the other hacks and using MSFT 5.0 does not work for me on Ubuntu 7.10

If only they see these forums and involve the community and start solving problems with highest complaints...

Default Bye bye reliance wimax

Thank god ..got today BSNL broadband connection...So time to say bye bye to reliance wimax....
Really frustrated with these guys like customer support/tect support and this antena and server.
Nothing can be happened to reliance. The time it will start working good without any issue ...at that time BSNL or Airtel will itself be availabel in that locality.

Thumbs up

On a good landline BSNL Broadband is a pleasant breeze, else there will be no end to your frustrations
I moved onto Reliance WiMax from BSNL recently and I am quite happy with the speed, goes up as high as 1.6 at it's best

I'm pretty satisfied with the performance of wimax. This is in comparison to the service I got from mtnl triband, sify, and some other company i can't be buggerd to remember the name of.

But it's like satisfied in a way that a person driving a maruti 800 gets satisfied with a new ford fiesta. The bmw is still out of reach, so to speak.
