Default Reliance Blocking File Sharing Sites in Kolkata

    Hi,

This morning I tried downloading stuffs from mediafire, but the site seems to be blocked from Reliance. I tried with Google DNS, yet it doesn't work.

I'm getting the following error: This site has been blocked.

and in the footer following message: Copyright © Reliance Entertainment. All rights reserved.

    Any help please? Thanks.

I'm not able to access these sites: megaupload, mediafire, filesonic while hotfile, fileserve seems to be working.

It looks like they are targeting individual website. Is there any way to bypass this restriction from Reliance?

    @rajeevrla do one thing.

IN DNS put 8.8.8.8 and now u can access all sites.

Thanks Anil for the help, could you please explain though.

    I have already tried with Google DNS(DNS:8 8 8 8 & alternate DNS:8 8 4 4) but it's not working.

What do you mean by modem settings either in mobile partner. And where ca I find the reliance dashboard?

Till yesterday it was fine, everything was working great. Only this morning it started blocking the sites.

Anil, I'm not using BSNL. I'm using Reliance BroadBand and I can't see the screenshot that you had shown.

It is bcoz Don 2 has released today which is distributed by reliance. They did the same when singham was released. This is pathetic

    check out this "wikipedia.org/wiki/Don_2#Release"
Is this the right way to avoid piracy?

    Wink Reliance Blocking websites

    Guys,

If your broadband provider is blocking sites, you can simply access that site by using proxy sites.

Do a google search for proxy websites access that website enter the website that's being blocked in the proxy website's search field and now you can access the website.

Don't know why the broadband provider is blocking sites

Well, this is just bullshit, nothing else. How can the idiot stop the piracy, already the movie is available through desitorrents.com and other torrent sites.

I am also the one affected by the same thing, but sorted it somehow. Downloaded HIDE YOUR IP ADDRESS V1.0 from warez site & it works like a gem. Try it friends.

    Default Same here

I am in Bangalore....and here too Reliance Netconnect is showing all file sharing sites blocked....they did the same during July 3rd week when Singham was released and also had done the same for Bodyguard....now for Don 2....use Opera Turbo to solve the problem...i dont understand why Govt is poking its dirty nose everywhere......

for those who really want to access anything use Tor Browser....basically it uses other distributed servers to access sites....so no network surveillance anywhere....not only when movies are released.....anytime...anywhere....(even in the workplace)...have fun

Yes, I agree too. Tor Browser seems to be the best solution. Use it until the Reliance don't unblock the sites. I'm able to access all the sites using the Tor Browser.

    @ arrysonic

It is not a program within your laptop that is blocking access to file sharing websites. Reliance Entertainment has obtained a john doe court order and has hence asked all major ISPs within India to block these websites.

I am an Airtel Broadband subscriber too and I too am unable to access it. Surprisingly while MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service is not opening up, megaload.com is working fine. It shows the "technical expertise" of these "engineers" who maintain the networks!

    gerbil *nods*

Try browsing megaupload with it's IP, i.e., 174.140.154.21

*LOL* for these ISP naives. They probably need someone to configure there IronPort. If they have one.
