Theoretically, it might work. But most people change their passwords. And you might not find an account on a 2 mbps connection in the first place.

Oh, and if you're caught, be prepared to face charges of hacking. It's a very serious crime ever since someoen decided that using an unsecured network to send terror emails is called "hacking"..

    bro,
in ur testing u tested wifi connection on a single computer at a time.
have u tested your wifi connection in which you can use 2 laptops simultaneously?
because what iam looking for is letting wifi router broadcast the signals and any one of the laptop will login to relaince website and once connected 2nd can use the same connection without logging onto reliance website..

Yeh. I have two PCs, one laptop and three other wifi enabled devices in the house. They all work fine, and anyone of them can login to the reliance website to let everyone of those devices access to internet. ^_^

    thx for the reply..
iam just writing the steps ur said in ur ealrier posr in my way let me know if iam correct.
presently i have 1 wired modem and a laptop connected to it with a lan wire. i log on to reliance website and internet works fine.
now i get a wifi router netgear n max 300.
    connect it after modem.
take a lan wire out of LAN port of wifi router to laptop(this step is for configuring router right?)
logn to router by 192.168.1.1 and setup as u said...
clone the mac id of laptop to router and setting it to autmotically get ip from server.
and then switch on the WAN port of router.
remove that lan wire which i used to setup router.
connect 1st laptop to router using wifi.
logon to reliance webiste and get connected to internet.
now when i introdeuce 2nd laptop do i have to clone the mac id of 1st laptop to the 2nd laptop or it will automatically get connected to internet without login on to reliance website?
and if i switch on the 2nd laptop before 1st will teh above procedure work?
    regards
    gurpal

The idea behind cloning your mac id is that the reliance software thinks that your router is actually your laptop. You see, the session is bound to your mac address. If you do not do the mac cloning, then the reliance software will detect a different device trying to log into the connection with the same id/pass.

Now, once you have set it up, you can log in from any PC/laptop that is behind your wifi router.

The cloning is done so that after you're logged into reliance from your PC, the switching of cables from PC to wifirouter should not result in a conflicting mac address.

In short, you do not need to clone any more mac addresses.

Yes it will connect. As long as you have a MAC associated with a NIC from a computer as opposed to a router that shows up to Reliance it will work. You can connect from any laptop/computer. Since they are on this side of the router Reliance has no way of seeing what you have connected.

    Default it worked

    dear friends,
    thanks for all your help.
actually its not that difficult as i thought, using a so called reliance broadband single login account on multiple computer/laptops over a wifi.

i just used a wifi router after the modem. and logged in via laptop ..
visited reliance website inserted id and pw, after that switched on 2nd laptop got conneted to router and it gave me stream lined access to internet.

note : i didnt cloned the mac id as suggested. but tried same process by swapping the laptops and found no need to do that. but if required i'll do that.

thanks again for all your help.

people should use this simple trick rather than to buy corporate pack which cost1 mbps for some 4k...
    regards

I have the same plan now and get 35-45 KB/s too You can of course use a router.

I noticed that torrents get upto 100KB/s if you have a seed/peer on the same Reliance network who doesn't cap his/her upoad, possibly with the same first 6 digits of the IP address. You also get 1MB/S if you download something from Reliance servers - try PC Protect.

I am not sure I understand you fully. Are you able to login to the modem at all - if not how did you try port forwarding configuration?

The user id/pwd for this modem from a quick google are:
    User ID: ADSL
    Password: expert03

    1) For ZXDSL 831V4.0_B04, the super username and password are “ZXDSL” and “ZXDSL”.
    2) For ZXDSL 831V4.0.1_B04, the super username and password are “administrator” and “ad1606″.
    3) For ZXDSL 831V4.0_B04 and ZXDSL 831V4.0.1_B04, the common username and password are “user” and “user”.

You can try the utorrent test on port forwarding and let us know the results.

Ok, are you able get into the configuration on 192.168.1.1?
What did you do to configure ports?

I would say the first step is to check if the forwarding is fine with uTorrent test. If it aint broken don't fix.

If you are in bridged mode, you will need to first disconnect the telephone line going into the router/modem to open 192.168.1.1
Otherwise the Reliance home page will pop up.

If that doesn't work even, try 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.2
