Thread: Problem setting up reliance

i tried configuring my modem-sl2_141 like the bsnl i tried to enter using PPPoE and in username entering the user id provided by reliance and using my password but it shows always PPP down
is there any way i can log in without opening reliance log in window and use it on my other devices

right now i am using the MAC Encapsulation Routing (MER) but it requires to log in everytime

What is the broadband connection provided by Reliance ?
Landline based ADSl connection? any modem supplied by them ?
or Wimax connection / ( innomedia unit supplied ?)
or any other mode.

Specify number of systems in use to be used in LAn and wifi mode .

essbebe its a landline based connection RJ11 comes in and it goes to binatone dt815 (provided by reliance) but i changed the connection and connected rj11 into the siemens sl2_141 and it gives me ppp down all the time using PPPoE connection and if i use the MER mode it connects but need to be logged in each time
so right now i have rj11( telephone line) into sl2_141 and i am not using binatone modem reliance provided in any way
hope i could bypass the logging in and i can make pppoe connection used

Post as screen shot Device Info of Binatone. when connected to Reliance BB.
Select the correct PVC number.

Probably you are not entering Id etc properly.

essbebe i did as you said in tutorial, used pvc 2 and still when i save setting and reboot it shows pvc 0 or 1 but not 2 and the ip address comes at 0.0.0.0
should i reset the modem, delete pvc 0 and 1 or what?
also when i do the vpi/vci 0/35 in pvc2 it says "ERROR: FAIL TO UPDATE DUE TO... Duplicate to a VPI/VCI !"
as the same vpi/pci is used in the pvc0 so what should i change it to ?

Binatone DT815 settings forPPPoE "always On"

Since your screen shots show SNR/ATTN data
Select PVC0 and enter vpi/vci 0 and 35
Enable PPPoE
enter UserId/PW of Reliance etc.
SAVE.
Reboot from current settings.
(IF"duplicate entries for vpi/vci" message is shown change in PVC2 to some random number) SAVE. Also deactivate all other PVC's except PVC0 to avoid confusion.

after days of research i had decided to go with asus dsl n10 modem router but it is not working for my connection.

I have done all the basic connections but when i went to browser to login into my account instead of regular reliance weblogin i was server with this webpage 192.168.1.1/error

No connection from remote server.

Please help me to resolve this and also please advice me how to secure my wifi?

While manually setting up it is asking for following details
vpi
vci
protocol {pppoe, pppoa, mer, ipoa or bridge}
Encapsulation mode - LLC or vc/mux

i guess we can't use pppoe, pppoa and bridge as they all require username and pass like dialers

so only protocols left is mer and ipoa but after selecting them router give me a new error that your dynamic or static ip is wrong

Also as per my knowledge we should enable dhcp so that router can pick ip automatically

After hours of messing with MER setting i managed to get my router/modem work.But there is some problem because it sometimes work and sometimes doesn't work means sometime i will be able to acces net from my phone but not from computer and in computer only one site opens i.e. google.(computer is connected to the router via lan cable)

Also when i connect my original reliance modem to my computer than i get proper values of ipv4 subnet mask and gateway in CMD after executing ipconfig/all
but when i connect my computer ti asus dsl n10 the information which i get after executing ipconfig/all in CMD is as follows:
ipv4 192.168.1.2
subnet 255.255.255.0
gateway 192.168.1.2
which i think is not valid. Why router is unable to get the correct IP address and gateway. and also i do think that as it is not a standalone router it will not require mac cloning (also in the admin page there is no option to that)
