Question Problem Setup Reliance Broadband with DLINK 2750U Modem

    Hi,

I have reliance broadband connection and i'm connecting trough DLINK 2750U router. some how i configured and made it to work . but the problem is, sometimes the page couldn't be loaded and showing page cannot be displayed. this is happening frequently and i checked with reliance customer care. they told that may be dlink settings causing this problem and not with reliance team. so can any one guide me how to exactly configure dlink to reliance broadband setp by step. is dlink router wat i'm having doesnt support this reliance broadband.?

    Check/NOTE ipconfig /all

Confirm details of modem supplied by REliance if any.

Confirm you get connected automatically or have to log in with ID/PW in system ?
See this link for identical PPPoE settings. VPI/VCI 0 and 35 same.
DNS enter in mode as provided by Reliance or google 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

The link to your blog doesn't even touch the issue with Reliance broadband.

But the router configuration could be same for all the service providers. If he would have done anything wrong in the DLINK configuration, then that link would help him. I have used that link for my configuration.

Reliance broadband uses MER encapsulation. Hence the router configuration that is applicable for all other service providers within India is not applicable for reliance. This is the sole reason why reliance is the only ISP within the country that uses a login portal to authenticate the connection.

The technology used by Reliance is much advanced rather the conventional PPPoE system adopted by others. But there are an assortment of issues too - such as the hassle to use this private website to login every time; the inability to share the connection out-of-the-box (elaborate tweaking is required) and also the inability to use third party modems with reliance broadband.
