    Just as i thought!
    Reliance noway deserves 8 above.
    It's oo bad..
With airtel and bsnle going 8mbps and 2mbps, reliance should have upgraded speeds to 1 mpbs..
as soon as i get airtel dsl in my area, i'm gonna shift to it!
That would be a better choice.

I am sure that we would see more and more speed coming in India and i also hope that Reliance would also upgrade there present connection to 2 or 6 mbps lines.

Am on Reliance Broadnet connection. The ADSL link light never lights up although the DSLAM is in my neighbors premises. I tried complaining with them, but no use.

I have taken reliance connection as BSNL was not having spare lines to connect, airtel yet to lay its cables in area. hence beggers r not choosers.

initially when my use was less, i found somewhat ok, now when my working time is about 5-6 hours, problems r plenty. first it get log off after every 2 hours. any download from rapidshare/megashare got disconnected and again have to start from zero.

second, almost atleast once in a week for about 3-6 hours there server goes down, sometimes dsl is blinking, signal is good, its showing connectivity but actually sites will not open.

on an average you won't be able to work on it atleast 3 days in a months for which u are paying in advance. local cable operator is quite helpful but their customer care is pathetic they don't know any technical things they are just raw boys n girls just after passing 10+2.

Well i have left my vote on this poll. As far as of my experience i would say that this company is worth nothing. They have very bad services and more over they have big problems with billing which is something really bad.

As of me i would say that it is not that much good. I have used it and my experience with was not that much good. I think that Reliance have to improve a lot if they really want to compete other major good companies.

They are not that bad, except for support, that is really bad.
So it took me about one month to convince them that I get really slow connections due to a problem they had and make them fix it.

After this really hard month, connection was O.K.
Until they cut it down because the bill was not payed. Actually, they didn't send an invoice. So we asked for regular e-mail invoices but this service is not available.
It took 5 days to get again connection out of several reasons, for example because it was nearly impossible to reach the support.

    Agreed Markus,

I am currently fighting a battle against them about packet loss, for the past 3 months now !! I have 18 different ticket nos, all closed saying problem has been resolved. Ofcourse my problem is still NOT resolved and I will be calling them on the weekend to raise ticket no. 19 !

The connection (when it works) is actually quite good. But God help the person who faces any problems and has to speak to customer care

    So my vote - Broadband : 8, Customer Care : -10, Overall : -2

    :-)

    cheers.

    Hi all,

I shifted from Hathaway to Reliance Broadband a month ago after checking out the speed in my firends house. The net speed is fantasitic but i was horrified to learn their billing method.

i have a 350 Rs Bundle plan ( 350/- Per month, 1 GB "Data Trasfer"). Please note the " Data Transfer", though their brouchure says "Download" !. What this means is unlike any Broadband Internet across the Industry, Reliance insists on Calculating the Data Transfer ( Upload+Download) as Data Volume. Whereas any other service provider only calculates "download" ( total amount bits flowed from ISP to your PC/System measured in Kbps ). I find this surprising, as its not a industry practice. When I checked with their Customer care they say its Upload+Download.

This is not a problem if you are using broadband only Internet browing, but of late Broadband is being use for accessing Corp Mails, Uploading Video , Live Video Chats etc, which consume quite amount data Volume per month.

I have always been paying for download+upload. My ISP is Asianet and they been doing that always. I was not even aware that there are some ISPs who do not charge for uploads in India. Of course it was a different story when I was in USA. There it was always unlimited. Uploading and downloading. But I never knew that was possible in India.

    Default Seriously.. A positive comment..!!!!

I moved from Airtel to Reliance (since Airtel was not able to transfer my connection ot my new location).

One good thing with Reliance connection is that you stop depending on evil internet there by saving you some time..

How much time did I waste because Airtel broadband was never down over 3 years and I was spending hours browsing, working extra hours for my employer, chatting with friends etc..??

    With Reliance:
I stopped sending mails, blogging, reading news, downloading latest updates of my eclipse IDE.. almost everything.. from home..

News junkie in me was killed by Reliance - Isn't it positive?
Now I am reading a lot of books in good old 'paper' format - Isn't this positive?

Family members don't waste time chatting with other folks abroad over Skype - thus saving time of both sides.. Isn't that positive?

In this process I am also saving bandwidth for other folks/important applications.. - Isn't that positive?

Suddenly I am more efficient - I need to plan extra carefully in office and complete my work before leaving - since once I am home I am disconnected from internet.. - Isn't that positive?

Of course I am paying extra money to Shell/IOCL whenever I had to drive to my office in the middle of the night since Reliance Wimax does not work and if it works it doesn't connect to my office VPN.

But that's okay.. it is once in a while..

Finally: I think losers acquire great positive attitude at some stage.. :-)

The best thing to do is take an Unlimited account. They will charge U a flat rate for the month. But it will NOT be that fast.

    Hi,

Rel Broadnet is not slow. I get d/l speeds of 1.7 Mbps on average and upload of 300 kbps.
This will be considerably slower for unlimited plans.

But like I earlier. God help you if you have a problem have to interact with "Customer Care". For that you have to develop +ve attitude like cruisecontrol said in his post.
