Reliance Wimax will be Dynamic (DHCP) Step 1 : Connect the Wimax wire from the wall outlet (power adapter provided by Reliance) to the computer directly. The computer must be in DHCP mode. Check the IP Address of the Computer. It should be a public IP Address. Step 2 : Open a web browser. If you try to open any page, it will take you directly to the Reliance Broadnet Login page. Login with your Reliance User ID and Password. Then Log out. Close the web browser. Step 3 : Now, connect the wimax wire to the WAN Port on the Router and the computer to any LAN port. You can open the Router Setup Page. Do MAC Cloning. Then, save changes. Run DHCP on the Router. Also you can configure wireless network, by changing the SSID and security. Step 4 : On the wired computer, open web browser, go to Reliance Broadnet login page and login and start enjoying the service. One problem, you might face is when the Router is turned off in between. You may have to repeat the Steps 1,2 & 3 to get the connection back. Reliance wimax connection functions very well on Linksys WRT54G Router. I would love to get feedback on the troubleshooting at mayurgala@gmail.com

I got DLink wireless router. In the wizard, what type of connection we have to select. PPPoE or DHCP. In case of PPPoE, its just asking for username and password. Where do we need to specifiy the DNS primary server and secondary server information. What are the steps you followed to make the wireless router work. let me know, thanks

Rep Power: 0 | I got this SO CALLED WiMAX installed 2 days back and the best and THE ONLY GOOD THIS IS THE SPEED. I was all thrilled and got myself a WRT54G Linksys SOHO router. I have supported this product long time back but glad that the interfaces were fresh in my mind. I thought this is a PPPoE connection and did the necessary setup on the router.. Kaput!!! then I did a MAC clone from my PC to the router, changed the router ip to 192.168.1.2, SET THE INTERNET CONNECTION TYPE AS "AUTOMATICLY ATTAIN IP" and guess what the router got an 124.125.. ip address that it is supposed to.. Now 1 and the only 1 thing that amazes me is i no longer have to put my username and password to access internet... it takes it by itself... Any suggestions on attaining an ip from this STUPID and USELESS modem bit quicker?? anyone?? Best Sunil |

Rep Power: 0 | Hey Guys, I too had the same problem of configuring the Wimax on a Linksys Wi-Fi router. I struggled for more than 2 weeks trying to make wimax work on linksys router and finally i made it. The advantage with the below setup is u dont require to setup any linux box DHCP server or perform ICS connection. The below steps are simple and straight forward. I just did the following steps : Step:1 Plug the reliance wimax RJ45 cable to WAN port of the router. Step:2 Wait till ur router gets the public DHCP IP address. Sometimes ur router might get the IP address immediately or some times it takes more than 10-15 mins. Not sure y? Step:3 Change the DNS IP on the wi-fi router IP address pool.. i.e., change the DNS IP of the router -192.168.1.1 to reliance wimax public DNS IP address 220.225.236.84 Pls note, reliance have blocked the ICMP therefore u cannot ping to any reliance IP's . U would get request time out. Step:4 Switch on the wi-fi on ur laptop and check for the IP address and ensure ur laptop DNS IP is 220.225.236.84. Perform DNS test: NSLOOKUP google.com and check whether IP's get resolved. Step:5 Logon to reliancebroadband.co.in and start browsing..... Thanks, Prashanth |

Rep Power: 0 | Hi, Plug the reliance wimax internet cable to WAN port of the Net Gear switch and from the management portal of net gear check for the IP address assigned to the net gear switch. Once ur Net gear wireless router gets the IP address. Switch on the wi-fi on ur laptop and check for browsing some sites. Hopefully it should work. regards, Prashanth |
