Default Some good news finally..!!

I have finally raised a request today to disconnect my Wimax connection !!

Airtel folks provisioned my connection last Friday (took 1 hour) , I configured my wifi network (15 mins). I am mobile in my home again and am in the process of configuring my other Wifi gadgets..

Thanks all for your support..

Takeaways from this experience with Reliance:

1) The only Reliance stuff you can buy without much worry are their shares.. (again REL share holders may not agree with me.. :-)
2) Cutting edge technology (Wimax) is of no use when your customer care ORG is infested by a$$holes
3) Never buy a house in (/move to) areas where there is no Airtel - This single mistake cost me sleepless nights ..
4) One can live without connectivity - My experience with Reliance proves it!!

All the best!!

Default Reliance Wimax Internet sharing

Option 1

1. Connect the cable that comes from the Reliance modem to the Internet/WAN port of the router.
2. Now you will have 4 LAN Ports available with the router. Connect one of them to your network card of your PC or Laptop.
3. Now turn to your PC.CLick on START-->RUN--> type "cmd"--> type ipconfig /all and hit enter.. you shud details as follows:
Ip address:192.168.1.100
subnet mask:255.255.255.0
default gateway:192.168.1.1
and many other details... just note the "physical address" somewhere for your reference coz you would need it.. eg. 00-WR-SD-24-33-AE
4. Open IE and in address bar type in 192.168.1.1 and a Username / Password screen pops out. type "Admin" for both and hit enter. You are now on the Router set up page.
5. There will be an option for IP on the first page. make it 192.168.1.2 instead of 192.168.1.1 (default)
6. On the SUB-TAB you will have MAC address or CLONE MAC.. click on that and you will see a new screen. click the radio button to enable mac clone and then type the same physical address that you have copied from the PC.
7. Now go to the status tab and chk if you are getting an IP of 124 series or 125 series... if yes then you are online. Open an IE window and type in any website.. it will take you to the reliance website for your authentication..

Hi Friends,
I am also an unlucky customer of Reliance Wimax. The real problem started when I bought Linksys Wifi Router. WRTG54.
I had tried, normal configuration, MAC cloning, but Reliance Server is not assigning any IP to the router.
Guys please help me out, I am really frustrated of this.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Anusheri,
I get the IP of 123.xxx.xx.xx after 2-3 tries on the laptop when connected directly to cable.
I have to do release and renew 2-3 times.

Back ground (Skip if you want):

I was using Airtel for 3 years without a single issue. A couple of months ago I shifted my residence where Airtel does not provide service and BSNL said I should have applied when I was born so that they could give a connection by the time my kids grow up (I don't have kids yet ;-)
You are indirectly abusing BSNL for its late connections.
but i got connection within 8 days from applying ( with new phone connection)
