Default There is a flaw in our method..

because traceroute uses either UDP or ICMP (based on the implementation).

So, there is no gurantee that packets go through the same routers all the time.

From my traces All the traffic is going through these 3 network elements: 124.125.208.1, 220.224.182.237, 220.224.182.34 and there onwards routes may be different each time..

Here are 2 traceroutes from the same machine to the gmail.. each of them took a different route.

Trace 1:

Default Some money matters now.. :-)

I am willing to pay 3x for an Airtel conection.
Reason:
  1. Reliance costs Rs. 842 per month
  2. Phone calls to their customer care cost Rs. 500 per month
  3. Time talking to their dumb customer care guys who can't read our previous complaints. - Rs. 5000 per month..

i.e. more than Rs. 6000/- pm..

Now if we pay Airtel 3x that would be Rs. 2500..!!

Or if we pay Rs. 500 to BSNL and pay a monthly hafta (godwill money) of Rs. 500 to the local line man and another Rs. 1500 to the JTO.. it will still be cheaper!!

If I am the JTO, I will demand 12 months in advance in the form of gold coins in true Bangalore style :-)

BTW: Does anyone have info on when Airtel is going to launch their Wimax services?

Default Reliance Wimax Bill

They have sent a Bill as usual.. and it is for full amount!!
I called the customer care to claim a waiver.. since there is some traffic on my connection, I might not get a waiver.. Their systems are as usual down to take complaints..... :-)

hi guys,i'm from delhi.
i got myself a wimax connection last monday(i facncied this connection even after reading the reviews only because airtel was not feasible in heart of delhi where i live).
i actually didn't notice the problem with upload until i used a website that demanded some upload (like hotmail does during authentication).
the engineers connected me to a BS4 which gave me a signal strength of 28-29 & -65 to -68, they told me these figures are rare(who cares).
when i noticed glitches in logging in to hotmail i knew something was wrong,
i tried to checked my connectivity at Tweaking for speed - dslreports.com.
the test failed everytime, i even tried some upload tests which failed somtimes and sometime gave me an upload speed of 3kbps (as if i am in 1995 working on a 286 machine on a meagre 2kbps modem which then costed 25k)

then i logged into the configuration of starmax 2150 and removed bs4 & tried to connect to another bs which had signal strength of 26 & -82 to -86, all my attempts to make this bs operational were invain .
i also noticed that another bs with signal strength of 6 to 8 & -80 to -86 was present in vicinity so....... u guessed it right i tried to connect to this base station and Voila!!!! operational and going good, within no time wimax modem fetches an ip for itself and my xp machine.
then i try hotmai.......... works flawless
go to same test page to test connectivity..........goes through smooth as silk!
i check the upload speed............ 80 kbps (not bad considering the signal strength)
so guys i figured out that upload issue is not at all due to signal strength, but instead it persists in some Base Stations.

in evening i even took a stroll in my area and noticed that both base stations were within 600 meters from each other (rare case)and hardly 400 m from my house, couldn't locate the third one though.

anyways i didn't know the bs would become oper with signal of 6 & -85.
even if this one does then y doesn't the bs with signal of 26 & -82 become oper. any clues?

ps:try elevating the height of your antenna and experiment with diff base stations, maybe you'll notice some change.

sorry for long and lengthy and 'damn it' such a lenghty post.
