    Thumbs down Vishal.. & Cruisecontrol

Vishal, I too know that you can change the BS options thru the web explorer using 192.168.1.1 - Scanner option.

But, all the options there are disabled. I was discussing this with Raghu (Cruiser), who seems to be aware of this. Request Raghu to throw some lights on this please. Tell us the procedure to do so.

Or u can also send that to my mail id. i can share with others with their mail id.

    Thumbs down Pankaj

Hi Pankaj, I doubt if you arent getting any signals from other BS. I used to get signals in 4 BS. last week during a complaint, someone changed the settings and i could see signal only in one BS, others were not receiving signal at all. Since it was very poor, i called the reliance guys and had a fight to claim that the earlier setup had good signal and how come the settings were changed. I was told that it could have been done by the server team.

So, i guess, these settings can be changed at the server end. And some people have access to change the BS as Vishal has commented on this forum and some ppl like us dont have access to change them and some ppl dont have any other BS connected other than only one.

And FYI, its the sector which are different in BS1, BS2, BS3 or any other BS. when you talk to technical guys or the customer care, mention that the sector you are attached is not fetching good signal.

Yes Pankaj, It seems that there is only one base station near to you, it all depends on locality. I checked other forums also, their are several 100 users who are suffering this problem and their will be many who is suffering but they dont' know. Well, let us all hope and pray that incumbent reliance engineers fix this problem for all, forever.

    Default Login Procedure

Just for the benefit of those, who may have 2 base stations near to them, here is procedure:-
    1. Logoff frm connection.
    2. Change IP address of LAN connection to 192.168.1.2, leave subnet mask and gateway to default settings.
    3. Open ur browser (IE/Mozilla) and type 192.168.1.1
    4. It will open Telsima starmax 2100 settings page and ask for login,
    Login: support
    Password: support
    5. Go to scanner channel tab and select any other good bs (cinr > 16) and remove all others.
    6. Allow it to sync with BS for couple of minutes.
    7. Logoff from Telsima.
    8. Change IP Address settings back to Auto.
    9. You must get IP Address from reliance.
    10. Log in to reliance broadband again and check if you can upload now.

I wanted to attach screenshots here but forum rules dont allow a size greater than 97kb for jpeg files :-(
uploaded a couple of snapshots to picasa before and after changing base station for your refrence, link is:-

Picasa Web Albums - Admin - reliance broa...

    thx

    Vikas,

    That is very detailed.. thanks..

For those in KR Puram area (where I live), suddenly all my BS except one (BS4) have disappeared. When I checked with a techie at Reliance he told that they have upgraded their provisioning system and only one working BS would be shown in your config. Even if you change your startupconfig file, their provisioning system changes this at regular intervals (i.e. overwrites your config). Another problem in this area is that there are frequent power outages and hence your POE and thereby Modem restart frequently refreshing your config.

If anyone in this area has details of other BS, pl. post here. We can add them manually and experiment.

Also pl. note that the firmware in some Modems was updated remotely by Reliance. Telnet server may not accept support/support as credentials (though the same is valid for the web interface). The new update uses admin/admin as credentials for telnet.

Other updates are that Linux and Router DHCP client requests will not be served by their DHCP servers (if your router/Linux box gets it, that may be due to some bug in their DHCP rules :-). Which means in most cases only Windows boxes will get IP address and your investment in the wireless router is a waste.

    Thanks Vishal and Ganesh.
I checked again and did as you suggested (removed all the base stations except one and tried connecting it but in vain.
I do think there is only one base station in my locality.

Ganesh, do you want me to mail my details (subscriber id etc) as you pursuing it with reliance guys? I haven't filed any complaint though as of yet.

Let me know what you want me to do.

You reset the password of Reliance WiMax, the one which we use to login for net access, is that so? Do I need to contact customer care for that?

    Default An update

Last night I could see 4 BS (locality is Dodda Nekkundi). One of them showing signal strength as 13. I still wanted to try it and removed the first one in the list i.e. the one operational with 20 + signal strength and tried connecting to the one with 13. Surprisingly after a few seconds this became operational and the strength shot up to 20 (from 13).

But I couldn't get an IP when connected to this BS.

I am going to play with these tonight too and post further updates.

    Unhappy Let heavens REWARD You!

This is indeed a good move against the SOCIAL EVIL ("Reliance Wimax in bangalore"). I am one among you guys got cheated in the Reliance wimax offers!

We must take these movement to the higher authorities...

I am also facing the same problem. After a long time's waiting I get connected. Once get connected, I have no Uploads, no mail replies, no attachments, etc. As all of you I tried calling customer care and created the T.Tickets. Now, I have got 2 trouble tickets in my end to play with. None of those fuckers have turned up.

I am waiting for the billing date to get the bill. Instead of money, I am giving them these tickets...Let them rectify it first, then come for collection.

I know those fuckers will not rectify that because their tech guys are really waste and fools as the senoir mangers.

Good I offer you guys all the support and and all the best in overcoming this social Evil

Thumbs down All options ruled out

All, Got some more bad news. Wimax upload connectivity issues.......
    Tried the following options:

    1. Changed antenna
    2. Changed MAC
    3. Changed BS settings
    4. Finally migrated to STATIC IP also today.

Many people are involved in this at Bangalore. But no one is able to solve this issue. Wondering if RELIANCE TECH TEAM is so incompetent. I throw a challenge to the Network guys with expertise to suggest options on this, which the tech guys have missed. Need ideas from TECH guys.

Please vote your thoughts, options on this issue.

Ganesh, this is Sandheep, although these guys were able to fix my issue a while ago, its resurfaced. I'm guessing that its a sever side issue as they were able to resolve it for me in the past.

How much do they charge us for a static IP?Does it really reduce the IP resolving time? And any improvement in terms of speed? Thanks

Thumbs down Bad News / Good news

    All,

Today i got a call from the tech team agreeing that this upload problem is being faced by many across cities. And they are unable to get to the roots yet. I was also informed that a designated team is already working on this problem. But until the problem is resolved, this will be on stake.

Good news is we can claim compensation for the period of the problem. So, if u get the bill, call up the Cust.Care immdly and claim for compensation quoting the problem, date & ticket number if you have for reference.

For once, after a long time, the technical support guy was able to explain and appreciate the whole problem along with his updates too.

hey, the static IP is not resolving the problem. Everytime we have been trying out new things, its proving to be wrong. So, changing antenna, changing MAC, changing BS or switching to static IP doesnt solve the issue at all.

As of now, static IP has been provided to me freely. And if to my surprise i get a bill, i am going to claim it back. I will not be paying ever. Moreover, i am gonna claim for a compensation for this problem for this months bill and the last months'.

lets see.. BTW, i am collecting the groups subscriber id, address, mail id and contact number of people who are facing similar problems. I dont seem to have taken your information. if you dont mind please provide the details. you can send them to gpganesh@gmail.com

    Thumbs down Attn All

    Hi All,

Got a surprise call from Tech team from Mumbai. Amit was the techy name. he claimed that this prblm is persistent across the country and a senior level team is designated to work on this. Yet, they are unable to locate the root cause and sort it out. He was explaining more terms technically which were little familiar to me. He was talking about latency time that is getting expired for any upload requests from our side. So this is basically to do with the server end which has to work upon latency time issues. Now, i dont know more technical issues on this front. "Cruise control" shld throw lights on this.

He finally told me that bills are not being sent to customers who are facing this issue. And in case its surprising that a bill comes to you, claim for compensation and keep this forum posted about it. Meanwhile, bear with this issue and enjoy browsing except upload.

Keep calling the Customer care to find out if there are any updates. This is just to keep them on track that your complaint is still open and being addressed by a larger group at senior level.

Regarding resolution on this issue............. God only knows. We have no other option other than waiting.
