Guys,
I have the similar problems, no uploads happening from my end. emails not going. Not sure what to do? I have read all the messages here but it seems people still facing the problem.

I haven't contacted customer care as of now and it seems no point in doing so as these guys are not competent enough to resolve the issue. I live in kormangala, bangalore.

Regards
Pankaj

Default If you live in Koramangala why did you go for Wimax??

Just curious to know..

You can get Airtel in Koramangala. If your company allows it, go for 8 MBPS connection and you will get faster response from Airtel in provisioning your service..

IMO Wimax is for unfortunate folks in fringe/semi-rural areas like Marathahalli, KR Puram, Nekkundi etc. where Airtel does not have network yet and BSNL is short on network gear. It is like the Solar lamps in tribal areas.. only difference is Solar panels are more reliable than Reliance services..

News is that the other biggie, Tata Indicom, is also screwing subscribers with their Wimax experiments - we are not the only Bakras :-)

Oh I did try to get the airtel. I applied for the airtel connection and they did the routine checkup and all. I filled up the form and gave them the money all went smooth but after about 8 days when nothing happened, I contacted them for a update and they told me that the local port or something is all choked up and they can't give me the net connection unless someone withdraws their connection. They did return my money after few more follow-up (I lost the check anyway ) and hence end up having the reliance WiMax.

earlier I had BSNL but for last six months it has become very unstable most of the time not working. Tired following up with them in vain and decided to move on. Tried Airtel, didn't get it and now having problems with Reliance.

Default got a workaround

hi guyz,

I did some R&D and got a workaround, i tested it for 2-3 days and it's working fine.
In my case the culprit is my base station. The POE equipment search automatically for all available base stations and connects to the one having highest signal strength. I found that my POE is listing four base stations:-
bs1 ----> signal strength ---> 27 (Mac Add: 00:00:0037:03)
bs2 ----> signal strength ---> 18 (Mac Add: 00:00:0037:02)
bs3 ----> signal strength ---> 5 (Mac Add: 00:00:0037:04)
bs4 ----> signal strength ---> 0 (Mac Add: 00:00:00:00:00:00)

technically, only first 2 with signal strength of greater than 16 can be used. My POE was automatically selecting bs1 bcoz of highest strength. I logged on to device, selected bs2 with strength of 18 and voila, :-), speedtest.net showing some upload speed, i removed bs2 and selected bs1 again and speedtest.net failed for upload. In 2-3 days i tried this multiple times and conclusion for me is that their is some problem with uploads on bs1 having Mac Add: 2203 & frequency: 33337000.
Now, i am manually using bs2 and removed all others, so that poe doesn't even attempt to connect them. For 600UL, speedtest.net is showing 550 DL & 180 UL speed.
Only thing is that i don't need to switch off my POE as after reboot it does scanning again and than i hv to manually select my favourite bs again.

hey vishal
Good find and I checked mine. In my case, it shows only bs4 station as operational and rest of them as NC. So I could not try it and problem remains the same.

Hi Pankaj,

At a given time, only one will be operational. In ur case if any other bs has signal strength greater than 16 than select that one and click on connect, to make sure that poe doesn't switch back to other one automatically, remove all of them. don't worry abt removing, u can get them back any time after rebooting ur poe.

HTH

don't use telnet, open 192.168.1.1 in web browser, go to scanner tab, and remove unwanted base stations.

Hi All,
I am new user to this group and from bangalore.I also not able to attach anything to gmail and yahoo mails. When I try than after some time it says failed to connect to server though I can download 100MB file without disconnection from net.
So look like this issue is also related to upload issue.

Customer care is horrible here.U calll them they will give u complaint no and than they will say that from bombay tech team will call in one hour. Than after every hour i call and they say they will call but no one used to call. After severl call i used to get call but no one used to solve the issue.

Please let me know what to do

Hi Vishal
Thanks for responding. I checked it again. There is no signal in any other bs. Only the one operational bs4 has RSSI as -67 and Cinr 26 and PTX as 20 but all the other have RSSI -110 and CINR as 0 and PTX as NA. So I assume that I am not getting signal from any other bs.
