Default Hi Karan,

Okay to do that follow these steps:

1. Connect the cable that comes from the Reliance modem to the Internet/WAN port of the router.
2. Now you will have 4 LAN Ports available with the router. Connect one of them to your network card of your PC or Laptop.
3. Now turn to your PC.CLick on START-->RUN--> type "cmd"--> type ipconfig /all and hit enter.. you shud details as follows:
Ip address:192.168.1.100
subnet mask:255.255.255.0
default gateway:192.168.1.1
and many other details... just note the "physical address" somewhere for your reference coz you would need it.. eg. 00-WR-SD-24-33-AE
4. Open IE and in address bar type in 192.168.1.1 and a Username / Password screen pops out. type "Admin" for both and hit enter. You are now on the Router set up page.
5. There will be an option for IP on the first page. make it 192.168.1.2 instead of 192.168.1.1 (default)
6. On the SUB-TAB you will have MAC address or CLONE MAC.. click on that and you will see a new screen. click the radio button to enable mac clone and then type the same physical address that you have copied from the PC.
7. Now go to the status tab and chk if you are getting an IP of 124 series or 125 series... if yes then you are online. Open an IE window and type in any website.. it will take you to the reliance website for your authentication..

IF this doesnt work.. you can call me at 9845654900

Best
Sunil

Hi Sunil,

Thanks a lot man!! I always had problems with Linksys WRT + Reliance....I made it work by entering DNS server names in 192.168.1.1 and by cloning the MAC address.... worked for a few weeks but not since a couple of days, not sure why, I tried a lot of things and finally tried your MAC address fix and it started working......Thanks again

Default Sharing without a CPE?

Could anybody share the Broadnet Consumer package (limited transfer) using a router such as Linksys WRT54Gx? I see a couple of workarounds suggested by other users via MAC cloning, but would this work if i do not have Reliance modem/CPE, since i did not need a phone line, i have taken only internet brought to me via Cat 5 cable. Thanks!

Please do not forget to enable wireless security. I repeat this all the time - just to make the point.

Hi Sunil,

Thanks for the detailed steps. I had subscribed to this thread but I'm not sure why didn't receive notifications for updates.

I went ahead and bought WRT54GL and the good news was it worked out of the box. I just selected DHCP as the option for service provider protocol and boom... that's it I got the reliance broadband loging page!

Thanks everybody for the help!

Happy surfing!

bye

Worked well but did not need to key in the MAC address. I think what worked was changing the default gateway to 192.168.1.2 and some powering up and down a couple of times. and yes, also the reset button for 30 seconds. Works quite well.
Thanks.
