    Default Particular site not opening with Reliance Broadband

    I've witnessed a very weird problem with Reliance Broadband (I use 300 kbps unlimited plan).

    I can open almost every website but not this site

    I contacted Customer Care. And at first they tried convincing me that the problem is from the server side (i.e. website hosting providers). I then asked few of my online friends to check if they can open this site who doesn't use Reliance Broadband, and to my surprise site opens there quite well without any problem. I then asked my other online friends whom I know use Reliance Broadband, and they said that they can't open this particular website.

    Isn't it weird? I mean, what exactly can be the problem for this? If you're using Reliance Broadband, try opening and let me know if you can open it. Also if you're not using Reliance Broadband, try opening it and let me know if it opens.

    At present, I've been told that there is some 'update' (which they didn't define exactly what the update is about) is going on from Reliance and hence site won't open (lol, where as every other site will open but not this). And moreover, they even didn't specify the time period by which this issue will be resolved.

    This is quite a pathetic Customer Response I ever had.

    I have the exact same problem with my webhosting.
    My "terrace" provider just moved to Reliance yesterday. Till then impossible to connect to my personnel email/webmail/web page...
    Did you get it solved with Reliance?

    Its just a DNS problem.. Chane your DNS to open dns and it should work.

    I have already changed to openDNS but with no success. The problem is that I don;t have access to the modem that I could reboot (on the building's terrace...) to see if that could chnage something.
    All other sites seem to work. Just my webhosting...

    I have contacted my webhosting and everything is green on their side.
    When I traceroute the IP it just stops after 4 routes in the middle of nowhere... 1) my router 2) the 'terrace" router 3) my public IP 4) ?? whoever Reliance IP

    Yes, a lot of DNS problems are subtle and easily overlooked. They can also be corrected easily..thankfully

    hey no need to get angry on the CCE. nothing he can do from his side need to wait for some time it is some thing with your ISP may be they are facing certain technical difficulties with the DNS of that particualr website.To let you kmow most ISP in india work on static ip address.

    Default site is not opening from some IP blocks

    hi

    one site (talgov.com) is not opening/ping/telnet from some IP-block & opening with other IP blocks of same ISP.

    DNS is also resolving perfectly this domain name.

    Kindly suggest.

    @rohitrohen

    Option 1
    open www. tinyurl.com
    Type the Orkut address.Get a tiny url address.
    copy it again in IE address bar.

    Option 2 :
    Log in, to your Gmail account. then try.
    (I visited my Orkut page first time today!)

    Please give feedback.

    @toshmine:
    Check your MTU setting in your modem. set it to 1492.
    Mention modem/make /model.

    well the problem is in reliance's servers, they tend to block many ip ranges.as one of my business is of domains.

    i got lots of customer complaining sites doesnt open mostly in reliance connection. in my city i solved that problem by submitting detailed latter to there nodal officer about the problem and they answered that they mistakely blocked some of the ports and ip ranges. in that case opendns doesnt works if reliance has block those things.

    so complain to reliance noddle officer in detail attach reports like ping and tracert.
