Thumbs down Any Reliance NetConnect User Using Torrents ?

    Hello...

I have been using RNC (Reliance NetConnect) since months or maybe an year and I have always got a stable speed of 12 - 15 kBps which sometimes have touched 25 kBps, though for some time. Sometimes, the speed even went down to bps and it almost stopped working. There have been several long down times, when they ask for bill and I tell them that they give a hopless service.

I was back to torrents two - three days ago as I was fed up of these rapidshare links. You can't ever pause them. You are on such a low speed connection. How can you manage to keep downloading? I used to download more than 10 GB every month using BSNL. I had to shift to Reliance for some reason. Now, I hardly cross 2 GB !!

When I started using torrents, I was getting a fair speed of 12-17 kBps. But today, I hardly am crossing 5 kBps. The number of peers is same as it was two days ago. So, the speed should be the same. Infact, the number of seeds go more than it was the last day, but still, the speed is hopeless. It has stopped working now. I wanna download just a 701 MB movie and will this **** ever let me download anything like I used to ages back ???

No firewall is blocking it. I use BitComet's latest version. Windows Vista Home Premium, Genuine. I'm on an unlimited plan.

there is an easy answer to your question

welcome to the world of reliance
Hope you enjoy your stay and make reliance rich by donating your hard earned money

think as if you are doing charity to the reliance Anil Ambani and family

there is no solution to your problem

I also moved from bsnl to reliance and i am doing charity to Ambani family

The only solution to this problem is to go back to BSNL...

Coz u won't find a single person in Reliance who undrstnd ur problem...

ANd ofcourse u would find people that will tell you that it is ur problem not theirs

Try using utorrent and turn on the encryption option.

Do you get good speeds while doing speed tests?

    Default Reliance sucks !!!

I've been using reliance netconnect since the last 1.5 yrs ... and the xp has so far been avg.

1st of all , when i connect to the net , it says "connected at 230kbps" , so ideally the d/w speed that i should be getting should be in the range of 25-28 kBps, but all i get is 15 kBps ,
i suspect these a***holes are capping the speed.

guys , also be careful when downloading from torrents , coz reliance sends a notice saying "u have attempted to download copyrighted material. and this is infringement and all that **** .. and legal action may follow ...
so , be sure to use "peerguardian" when d/w torrents

on the upside , i have been able to connect almost everytime , tho the customer service sucks big time.

There is no better broadband company than Reliance. I use BSNL at my home, and it sucks. The connection is never stable. Airtel is really expensive, and gives less than they promise.

Reliance may have its own share of problems, but its still better than others.

    I am in Haryana.
    Reliance is fucked up.

Anyone ready to help me rise a petition ?
I mean, I can start it. But I need all of you to spread it.
Let's target 50,000 (lol, near impossible) signs and give it to Reliance infron of the media.

dude u joking......airtel is the only bb service which gives the best value for money.....hd airtel at my home.....it rocked ..moreover they usually give speed higher thn the perscribed.....like i hd 512kbs connection at home...ideally shud get 64 kbs but i used to get 70 kbps most of the time with speed reaching to 100-150 sometimes.....reliance bb sucks...it cuts ur pocket n dosent even give u wht u pay for n the cc service is the worst....

if u need constant connection to internet , then bsnl is worst
i dont know abt airtel, but in gujarat, my reliance connection is great with 75kbps unlimited plan, and torrent is working fine with me.

    i have 99.99% up connectivity.

play with utorrent settings, like change download speed to 100 Mbps ( lolz..)
then change it to 10Mbps, just try changing diff. speeds
u will get enough speed according to you plan..........

I always hear negative remarks from Anti-Reliance fans. Always they go whine about Airtel, BSNL and TATA who aren't actually as good as Reliance is. Something ought to be done about these peoples.:2guns: I have been usin' Reliance for about 3 months now. I am more than satisfied with the performance on the whole. I get around 2.5 - 2.8Mb/s at day times and about 1.9 - 2.1Mb/s at nights. :thumbup1: The speed actually depends on where are you at. If you are off the city limits or an area which doesn't have maximum coverage there the speed can be reasonably low. So better change your residence to either Coimbatore or Mumbai to enjoy top-notch service from Reliance.

Although I haven't used BSNL myself I can still stay it is no where near Reliance. After all, what can you possibly expect from a Government owned service that has no infrastructure, support and professionalism?:14:

    Lightbulb BSNL Rocks!

I used every thing on the market except 3G broadband services. And I choose BSNL to be the prime followed by reliance.
