    Default Good news - Finally!!

Airtel network is now available in Dodda Nekkundi Area..

I have finally raised a request today to disconnect my Reliance Wimax connection !!

Airtel folks provisioned my connection last Friday (took 1 hour) , I configured my wifi network (15 mins). I am mobile in my home again and am in the process of configuring my other Wifi gadgets..

    Thanks all for your support..

Takeaways from this experience with Reliance:

    1) The only Reliance stuff you can buy without much worry are their shares.. (again REL share holders may not agree with me.. :-)
    2) Cutting edge technology (Wimax) is of no use when your customer care ORG is infested by a$$holes
    3) Never buy a house in (/move to) areas where there is no Airtel - This single mistake cost me sleepless nights ..
    4) One can live without connectivity - My experience with Reliance proves it!!
    5) Expecting to get a response from Reliance Nodal officers is foolishness..
    ...
    ...
    ...

    All the best!!

    Default Update..

I have been begging them to disconnect my service for the past 2 weeks..

Finally I got a call from them to confirm the disconnection..

Now, for guys who need to disconnect their BSNL connection, here is a simplified guide (wrt Banaswadi area) :

    1) Go to Banaswadi office and explain that you want to disconnect then they will give you a statement
    2) Take that statement to Kammanahalli office and make the final payment and take receipt
    3) Drive back to the Banaswadi office and submit the receipt along with application for connection
    4) After 4 weeks you will receive a call that you applied for disconnection without making the final payment
    5) Now you need to go back to Banaswadi office and submit a copy of the receipt..
    6) After 2 weeks they create a work order for disconnection which you will never know
    7) You need to call and ask them about the work order. Note down the work order.
    8) start searching for your exchange and submit your instrument and quote the work order number
    10) They will say that you will get your deposit cheque after a month..
    11) Forget about the cheque.. that will never come..

But at the end you get rid of a connection!!

Now this disconnection bit sucks... They need to be a bit more pro customer in handeling these sort of requests atleast.
Competetion in future will make them work a bit more harder then they are used to in future.. if atall
