Default Reliance Static IP cost Rs 2000

Need your help on this

I think that i have posted before but did not get any reply on the static IP issue

I have been facing DHCP issues with reliance since i have the connection. Most of the time the connection does not work in the evening as the base station i connect has run out of IP, confirmed by reliance engineer that their are no IP

After logging around 20 tickets the issue is not resolved

One day an so called Sr Engineer called and said that "Go for Static IP"
I complained to the nodal officer and they said that if i go for the static IP the issue will be resolved but the static IP cost Rs 2000

I am OK paying Rs 2000 if this resolves my issue as i need to do office work when i go home and if i have a net working then i can have peace of mind

The issue , i was on a conf call with one of the Sr Engineers from Mumbai and Bangalore in which one guy said that the cost is Rs 2000 one time charge, the other guy form Bangalore said that the cost is Rs 2000 Per year

Now i am ready to pay Rs 2000 one time but every year Rs 2000 is too much

Do you guys know if the cost of static IP is Per year or one time?

Should i go for this?

Check out the reliance wimax connection form you filled and see the ters and conditions.

Thats what I was told. The best thing to do would be call your local guy who ever installed your connection ask him to have a look at the connection request form and on page 4 under the header Additional services it reads :

3.4)ADDITIONAL SERVICES :
If Customer requires additional IP addresses beyond allocated addresses then the following charge shall apply:

- For a block of 8 (eitht) IP address- Rupees eight thousand per annum only (Rs8000/- p.a)

-------------------------

This is the only thing mentioned about IP addresses.. I understand that this doesnt apply to a internet connection and is actually applicable to the servers they rent out in their data centres but then I dont see a point why they would mention block of 8 ip for a residential connection... All the other details look ok and are about wimax connections its just the IP bit they messed up.

I have already raised the request for Static IP
to do this they need 120 Hr , what a joke
do they think that we are fools if they say 5 days what would be wrong? if they say 120 hr they think that people will think that it is much less time than 5 days

any way i have checked with many ppl from reliance and all have said that it is Rs 2000 / year only the Sr engg was saying that it is Rs 2000 one time, but he was from the technical dep and ode snot know about revenue

I don't care if it is Rs 2000 / year, i am having IP issues with the connection and i want peace of mind, because of reliance i have to leave my office late as i need to complete all my office work in the office as i am sure that when i reach home it is not going to work. no options to work form home because of reliance.

The other engg from Bangalore was not sure if this is a monthly payment or a one time payment

any way i have raised the ticket , let me see when they will give me the IP

The so called 'Customer Care' is a joke... They haven't even got my account registered in their system till now... its been more than 50 hours... I think they'll take 120 hours for this too

Did you have any upload issues with your connection.. cause i am having them and don't know what to do....

hey, gardencityboy, do let us know if your dhcp issues get resolved after getting the static ip. i'm pondering upon taking the static ip as well... due to the same reason, the connection runs mind blowingly fast when its wokring, but times when i've really needed it for work, i've had ip issues. It extremely annoying.
