Default Fedora 9 Connecting Problem with Reliance ZTE MG880 and Huawei EC325 modems

I had both ZTE MG880 and Huawei EC325 modems working with Fedora Core 6. Service provider Reliance, India.

I just upgraded to Fedora 9.

When I try to connect through either modem, it seems the connection is made (Ping) but pppd issues some garbage and Firefox is unable to recognize the connection. The issue seems similar in both cases. Below is some output.

I too had the same issue. It seems to be a problem with fedora's pppd than with the modem as the modem works well with other distro's (Tested it in 2 other distro's debian and ubuntu). Switch to debian or something. It should definitely work.

    Default Need it in F9

    Thanks for the reply, nm.

Well,it did work in FC6. And by the same logic it may not work in future releases of other distros. Though that is not the subject matter of this post.

I really need to have it working in F9. I have a number of systems running Fedora here.

Try compiling pppd from source and check if it works. Try not to take it from fedora repository. If its a bug in pppd then please file the same.
