Rep Power: 0 | People who have no other choice but to use Reliance broadband - for whatever reasons it may be. Have you been facing any issues with Reliance Wimax recently? I have not been able to access the internet or get the IP address at all. All I am getting is the "No connectivity" message on Windows. I call Reliance Customer-no-care and there is as usual, no help. All I get is different ticket nos and as usual, they keep closing the tickets without resolution. Damned morons. I am feeling like writing about this on my blog and ripping somebody off! |

Rep Power: 0 | Same problem here. A Reliance support guy in Mumbai was a bit more informative. He said that when the connection is unused for a prolonged period of time (6 hours??), the adapter (Reliance provided) is marked inactive. After that all attempts to acquire an IP address from the DHCP server fail. One workaround (a bit of pain) that seems to work is - 1)Disable the Ethernet interface on your computer 2)unplug power to the Reliance provided adapter 3)Wait for at least 1 minute 4)Power the Reliance provided adapter 5)Wait for 5 minutes 6)Enable the Ethernet interface on your computer Hope this helps. I am still calling Reliance for a better fix. Not sure when if at all they fix the problem. I plan to discontinue the service if the problem is not resolved by the month end. |

Rep Power: 0 | Hi All, After a dozen calls and 8 problem reports (all unresolved) I asked for disconnection of service. This was about 2 months ago. Two weeks ago one of their technicians came to recover the transciever, cable and adapter. Last week, I got a notice from a lawyer (probably a professional collection agency) demanding I pay the monthly charges. Since I got barely 5 days worth of service and wasted much of my time on the service, I responded asking them to proceed legally and that I would respond appropriately. Overall, a very poor experience. I doubt I will ever trust Reliance again. |
