Default Early closure charges by reliance broadband-Cheating

Hi, I am from Hyderabad. I opted for 1mbps connection in March'08 by paying Rs. 500 as installation charges. However, I had following problems.

1). Service is poor. Modem goes on sending packets, without any reply. However, still the bill is charged for them.
2). Customer care is very poor. One has to have lots of patience to get the problem solved.
3). Bill is informed by phone and the details are sent after lot of effort.

Hence, I disconnected the connection in July,08 by settling the final bill. After one month again they send a bill for Rs. 1750/- as early termination charges. This was never explained by any of the representiaves before connection. I do not know what for I have to pay this and it is an absurd.

Please suggest me my next action.

Do not pay them. If they insist, threaten them about a consumer court case.

Nothing new...wat u have informed. I know n no. of cases like urs. Even after surrendering ppl get bills whether it is broad band or mobile. Either it is their system problem or they are doing it knowingly. When they are raising bills like this in thousands one will find atleast few guys who may pay up w/o chking. Some guys pay up just to avoid hassle. It is their additional revenue. So I suggest Simply dont pay the bill. IF u hv ticket no. & date of ur surrender request than inform them. It will help.

i also had the same issue

I had DHCP issues, they said buy static ip for Rs 2000 per year and the issue will be resolved as i will always have an IP in my system

I bought it, what i mean is i told i will pay them, after i got the static ip the issue was still there

So i disconnected reliance and they said i had to pay Rs 2000 + tax + that month bill amount

I told them take a walk, i will only pay what i used and static ip i never used
i bluntly disagreed to pay, "do what ever you want"

If i am expected to pay, i expect some service in return, if reliance think that just by generating bills they can get me to pay up they are mistaken

Did not get any more call for payment

I have same problem. CC told me on phone that one of our representative will collect the modem and your Early termination forecloser charges will waived off.
but nobody hasnt come to take the modem. i complained on 21st Aug. and repeated after every 72 Hours. I already have 3 complain numbers with me. but whenever i mention them the number they just create new one and said i have to create a new one to put old complain number in it. wtf !

they were trying to do the same to me

but i told them that if some one does not come to my place to pick it up then i will try to sell it as junk or scrap it. It would give you 1 Kg of aluminum worth of money (at least the antenna)

with in a week i started getting calls to collect the equipment and was done with in 2 weeks
