Default Reliance GSM launched in J&K

Reliance GSM is said to have completed its nationwide footprint with the launching of the service in Jammu & Kashmir. Initial coverage include 50 towns and 5000 villages of the state. As in other states the SIM card will be costing just 49/- and an one time subscription charge of 51/- is also taken from the new subscribers. The ARPU (Average Revenue Per User) is less than 150/- and Reliance has made a bold move in launching the service in the state.

R-CDMA is available only in Jammu town and Katra. Hope the GSM coverage is wider.

BSNL is a preferred service provider for it's sheer coverage in the Kashmir valley.Vodafone,Idea,TATA,Airtel don't work smoothly in south Kashmir. Moreover,if you have a prepaid account then forget outgoing calls.Reliance must have plugged the holes before going full throttle.

Reliance men know how to take out money from the pockets of people.there must be hiding conditions apply too.please do mention if its there.by the way even if you give away new sims for free to people it wont be loosey too.cause you get much revenue reply to that.Infact Reliance people are very rude in making up revenue.my Father has a postpaid. Apart the coverage is great in state U.K.the service is premiumly costy.

No hidden charges. Pay the sum, take the sim, enjoy the offers. But the coverage will be an issue because they have launched the service only recently.

Not many of you have been to jammu and kashmir i guess.

i have worked there for two years.

only two gsm players exist in jammu
    BSNL and Airtel

If you have a prepaid sim card (BSNL and Airtel) from the rest of the country ...it will not work in jammu..it simply wont.

If you have a post paid connection it may work but you need to talk to the customer care first.

if you live in jammu getting you hand on a sim card is not easy, esp if you are not a localite. You need you passport copy and a residence proof and some kind of a special paper which say that you are not a terrorist and then you get a sim card. The sim card get activated after 1 day.

    After that everything is normal.

I would say nothing beats Airtel there.
I was 10,000ft up in ladakh ,in a region where i was deaf because of the silence and then my airtel enabled cellphone rings...its a nice feeling.

And the best part was the incoming was free as i was in J&K.no matter where ever you are.

    Can't really say about reliance.
