Reliance Communications (RCom) seems to be having major expansion plans for their GSM segment.
Reliance has stated to have added around 5 million new subscribers in January 2009 and a majority of the additions would naturally be from its newly-launched GSM services.
For the purpose of sourcing of GSM SIM cards they have tied up with Korean companies. They had earlier placed orders for 15 million SIM cards, out of which 10 million have already been shipped. Now, an additional order of 25 million GSM SIM cards with Korean vendors has been placed, with delivery expected to commence by the second week of March.
So we can all expect some more offers from R-GSM and more reduction in tariff.
