This part isn't quite true, in the sense that it isn't the ONLY network that supports this. Don't know about others, but at least Docomo supports this. My phones sync time automatically when Docomo SIM is used... same as with Reliance GSM. I guess newer GSM networks support this... won't be surprised if Uninor supports it too.

Unfortunately Idea does not have this, and evertime I have to manually re-enter time and date, everytime SIM is changed.

Checked this on Aircel. The time does not update automatically. At least not on the handset it is on currently (though that handset is supposed to support it)... so can't be sure its not a handset issue.

RGSM was the first network to implement the same - at least in India.

No there is no UL plan in GSM max they give 2.5 GB in just 99 which is more than enough for normal users who check just mails and do normal surf considering you get 144kbps+ and too on a GSM all the time what more you expect in Rs99?

Its not different here in Pune. Voice clarity can be really bad. Coverage, esp. inside buildings is also pretty bad. Its the worst network here.

Docomo gives 6 GB for Rs. 95. Rs. 48 gets you 2 GB. And btw, you should expect more than 144 kbps. GSM EDGE can support upto 236 kbps. Dunno what kind of speeds users of Reliance GSM get.

DOCOMO is not available everywhere, and i know that GSM EDGE is capable of 200-230kbps and i get 150-210kbps on Reliance net connect GSM

i dont know why are you thinking reliance is the first... Reliance is just the last...

coming back to edge.. I think Tata docomo is worst in terms of speed and consistency.. infact my idea is also not working better( i am paying 20 rs a day for it)...

    Thumbs down Bullshit Reliance !!

I ported from Docomo to Reliance. Horrible experience in Reliance GSM! As 3 months got over, I ported-out of Reliance GSM too! There is nothing good in Reliance. The Owners are Thieves and the Employees are Goons providing Producs and Services below the Quality of China Products! They didn't even gave me the UPC code I had a long battle with them for the UPC code!
