Default Anyone faced this strange SMS issue?

I have been using reliance prepaid gsm since 5 years. Recently I have been repeatedly getting delayed and duplicate messages from one of my contacts. We have been texting back and forth for quite a while with no problems, but ever since our conversation crossed 1000 messages mark I have been facing this strange issue.

Sometimes I receive my contact's messages delayed by 5-10 minutes. I also repeatedly receive duplicate messages from previous day's conversation. It has come to the point that I receive around 5-6 messages daily without my contact even sending them.

I have tried replacing the sim, done hard reset and switched handsets, but the problem still persists. I have given up hope contacting the customer care as they are always out of reach. Is switching to a new carrier my only option?

I suggest that you speak to folks that are using other carriers with their GSM phones. If they are experiencing similar problems then there is no point in switching over. However, if that's not the case then there's definitely an issue with your carrier and you shouldn't stay with them. From what you've already explained, the issue is not likely with your phone or the sim card. It probably lies with the carrier and/or the network in your area.
