wireless internet is never good for gaming or apps which need good pings
Reliance BB+ is NOT based on Satelite signals.
BSNL EVDO & TATA Indicom Photon uses EVDO.Rev.0 while Reliance uses EVDO.Rev.A. Both are linked to mobile base towers (BTS) and function on the 800 Mhz frequency on the CDMA system. There is no involvement of Satelite. [Presently only VSAT based internet service uses Satelites.]
If u don't believe me try taking your data card to a place where Reliance CDMA mobile does not work. Your data would also not work.
The difference in speeds are the inherrent differences of EVDO.Rev.0 (older technology) & EVDO.Rev.A (newer technology)
EVDO.Rev.0 has a maximum speed of 2.4 mbps (downlink) and 144 kbps (uplink) whereas EVDO.Rev.A has a maximum speed of 3.1 mbps (downlink) and 1.8 mbps (uplink).
BSNL uses LL numbering plan for its CDMA (tarang) service which limits access to the SDCA so BSNL EVDO can not provide roaming whereas Reliance uses Mobile numbering plan for its CDMA (RIM) service which enables full roaming so Reliance EVDO can give full roaming.
The Data Card of Reliance works on CDMA EVDO & CDMA 1x so in cities where EVDO is not supported it falls back to the CDMA 1x service.
What is EVDO?

ok so that (Reliance) sales guy had no idea what he was talking about
it seems Evdo is a 3G service and not based on satellite signals
and also BSNl have not upgraded their base station infrastructure in many cities so they are unable to provide Evdo in many areas , which is one of the reasons i dint get BSNL evado , even though i was looking out for a mobile BB
But my tests did show that Reliance has better coverage and speeds
[QUOTE=dakshi.me;129365]Reliance is introducing their broadband + service. I found this info on other forums said to be 20 times faster than ordinary usb modem with the speed of 3.1 mbps!! i think its EVDO based high speed data card, and I am gonna have one for my lappie... can anybody help me with the more details coz i am unable to find their website...[/QUOside TE]
The service is ok. but the the reliance group as usual failing in terms of ethics have cheated me. So be aware !!! The i took this so called unlimited plane with max limit of 10 Gb. They calculated the bill in such a way that it came around 3300 RS for a month.I took the plan on 29 on Mar but without informing me they made 7 Apr as my billing date and calculated the bill on a pro-data basis which means i was given on 3GB for 9 days which i was not aware of and they charged 2 Rs per extra MB.........At the same time i am checking the data usage ....i am finding it to be all extrapolated usage they are showing.......skype claims to be "30 Hours of video chat with web cams on both will be taking less or more than 1.5GB " But when i am checking the data usage on daily basis i am finding it to be an extrapolated data..........................So i would never never never buy Reliance ......
Give me 16 gbps and I still will not be satified. The 3.1 mbps is good but unless there are two options, I refuse to sign up:
a) I want 3.1 gbps unlimited usage and no download caps/FUP crap, etc. (dream come true)
b) OK. Give me 3.1 mbps, put a download cap but give me an option of night time free, at no extra charge (decide your own night time). And once again no FUP crap.

But for guys like me ..... who need uninterrupted connections 24*7 this is just a boon ......
1) i never get disconnections
2) national roaming free of cost
3) first time i am actually seeing a (average of) 2mbps connection ( its 3 mbps ofcourse)
i have BSNL 2mbps in my office ...... but i never ever seen it go beyond 1.5mbps .... and averages around 1mbps during daytime . Biggest problem would be the non existent customer care and technicians who rarely ever turn up if there is a disconnection . No such problem in reliance BB+
4) Plug and play ! .... u can set up the connection on a new computer under 1 minute ! dialer software inbuilt inside the modem
my only bitch would be the fair usage policy
if they remove that .... this would become " The Best connection "

Absolutely no doubt about it
Why Reliance is calling a 10GB Data limit plan as unlimited?
Don't these Guys knows the meaning of UNLIMITED word.
CHEATED BY VRITI INFOCOM IN RELIANCE NETCONNECT BROADBAND+
RELIANCE NETCONNECT BROADBAND+ DISAPPOINTS. VRITI & RELIANCE NOT
WILLING TO HELP

Guys, unfortunately I also fell prey to the offer by
“connectindia.in/Reliance-Data-Card” (Vriti Infocom) which comes as
the first link if you do a search for reliance broadband netconnect. I
submitted my details on the net & in turn promptly got a call from
Ghanashyam (9654181072) call centre in Noida.
Having agreed to subscribe, was referred to Dinesh (9920551022) a
representative of Vriti in Mumbai. As agreed, a third guy Sameer
(9870612868) came on 14/10/2009 and collected the form & cash of Rs
3500 from my residence at Wadala (East) – Bhakti park and promised
that the connection would be activated on the same day.
After rigorous follow-ups with reliance and Sameer, I managed to get
the connection activated the next day but was of no use as I was not
able to connect to the broadband network. Most of the time I could not
find the broadband network or whenever there was network I got
technical or other errors. I could connect only twice to the broadband
network in last 2 weeks and that too with a maximum speed of 40-50
kbps
Have been calling reliance helpline since then, but with no success.
The calls to Vriti's persons went unanswered. Finally, I was told to
visit web world to check for technical problems or to speak to network
team for the network issues.
Now comes the interesting part - on my final call to the customer care
on October 24, 2009, I was told that my subscription has been
SUSPENDED and the reasons being CONFIDENTIAL cannot be told to me by
the customer care and hence, was advised to visit the reliance web
world to understand the reasons.
Though being in Reliance's web already, I went to the Reliance Web
World at Veer Nariman Road, Churchgate to understand the reasons for
suspension. After waiting for around 40 minutes for my turn to come,
was told that even they are not aware of the reasons and "As a matter
of Process" they need to write to the back office to understand the
reasons, which obviously would require me to re-visit them after
couple of days.
Arguments around this brought a senior person () in to picture who
finally managed to drop the bomb on me - I was told that Reliance has
a exclusive tie-up with somebody called Shweta Communications for
certain areas including Wadala (East) – Bhakti park and hence, Vriti
was not authorised in first place to sell data cards in Wadala (East)
– Bhakti park and hence, my connection being unauthorised has been
suspended.
Solution provided?? I was asked to go back to Vriti and return the
data card, get my money back and apply afresh for a reliance data card
with the web world (I assume that they were being sarcastic in
expecting somebody to comeback to reliance again!)
Asked if they can help me anyways - answer was a firm NO. On
insistence - was given a telephone number of a nodal officer, which no
body answered
I requested the web world guys to register my complaint or give me in
writing whatever they told me but they refused firmly. Their response
was that they cannot help as it is not a problem at Reliance's end and
I should go back to the vendor who sold me this card.
The response from Reliance was very disappointing. Vriti being a
channel partner for Reliance, they can’t just wash their hands off the
entire matter by simply returning the customer. More so when they have
registered the connection initially and activated the services
I have been trying to contact the Vriti's team (Ghanashyam, Dinesh &
Sameer) since then but with no avail. After dozens of failed calls, I
wrote a stern message to the 3 guys, maybe which made Dinesh to answer
my call. Response?? Ignoring his tone for the time being, he referred
me to another guy called "Jay". On my refusal to speak to another guy
& narrating the story all over again and on insistence on him speaking
to 'Jay" directly or at the max we jointly speaking to Jay, the
response which I got was “THATS IT!!" and the guy disconnected the
phone. He did not answer any calls after that.
What should I do?? I am currently contemplating a criminal complaint
with police of fraud & cheating against Vriti Infocom, Ghanashyam,
Dinesh & Sameer. Further a complaint in consumer forum on Reliance
Communications, Vriti Infocom, Ghanashyam, Dinesh & Sameer to seek
full refund of Rs 3500, termination of the post paid connection and
damages. Further, there is no network coverage of broadband at my
address contrary to the claims made by Reliance, entitling me to full
refund on account of their inability to provide me the agreed
services. MDN Number – 093245 82590
Would request you guys to suggest some good lawyers who handle such
matters or suggest some tips or alternative remedy which you might
think is viable. Lawyers - please feel free to contact me.
PS –
1) I am ignoring currently the fact that I was given wrong information
about the plans initially which led me to subscribe to the wrong plan.
For this I managed to get a complaint registered with Reliance before
suspension.
2) I have not been given a goa trip offer which was promised at the time of sale
3) Further, the broadband network in WADALA is pathetic and its not
possible to connect to broadband anyways
You can still use your modem with a new card that they can issue.
1st: Call the cops. Get those 3 guys behind bars. Tell them FRAUD & CHEATING!!! .. Personal suit.
Then make it a Consumer complaint later for Reliance & Vriti as organizations. Corporate Suit.
Looks great.
So far I have been using wired Broadband by BSNL for my desktop. Soon I am going to buy a laptop and planing to have either Reliance or BSNL EVDO.
But there are few things I need to know, I would be glad if anyone clears them.
1. I am a heavy downloader. On Reliance's site, it says "Nil" for Night usage for plans like Broadband+ 5 GB or Broadband+ 3 GB which I would love to have. But I want to know, is this 10 GB limit applicable for Night usage too? Or is it like BSNL's Home 500 - 2.5 GB Day, Night Unlimited? It would be great if it is so!
2. Most important : Would I be able to use either of 'em (even with some tweaking) on a Linux distribution?
3. Sorry for asking a lil' irrelevant to this thread, but what is the exact difference between BSNL 3G and BSNL EVDO?
hello hii am deepak from bangalore i bought reliance netconnect broadband+ listen zte ac 2736 is latest modem its superfast wireless modem i use 850 rupees unlimited ones it supports all speed i get average speed of 156 kbps torrent download speed buy it its worth buying this for all those using bsnl it sucks i had a test on all wireless modem as live trial all suks but only reliance broadband+ super thats all wat i can say i get tower even in some remote places in karnataka i have tested
