Thread: Reliance BB+ fluctuated signals

I hav a reliance BB+ data card.

This logs into a HSD mode and frequently changes to 1x. To gain the HSD back i disconnect and plug out and plug back the USB modem to regain the HSD signals.

This seems to be a fluctuating sign. Has anyone faced this problem.

Note: I use office VPN.

I have raised a complaint in the meanwhile. However, pls let me know if there are any settings to be made.

u are probably in the fringe areas of EVDO coverage . please try to find out the nearest EVDO tower. it should not be more than 3-4 KM for EVDO to work properly.

Data card or USB modem ?

You must be beyond the fringe areas ... thats why you have fluctuating signals

I have never faced these problems even in places which bordered the coverage areas

There is an option of selecting HSD, 1x and hybrid. By default, all the modems are set to Hybrid. If u have lot of fluctuating problems, then i suggest you keep ur modem on pure Broadband/HSD mode. However u risk loosing ur connection at times. Worth a try though..
