Rep Power: 0 | Hi All, I had a really horrible experience with reliance netconnect and I thought I should share it somewhere. I am from Bangalore and had applied for a reliance netconnect 2 weeks back (4th June 2009) through their website. On the same day a person from reliance came to my office and took all my documents, verified the same and gave me the device after taking payment of Rs.3500 from me. This was a Thursday and he told the connection will be activated within 72 hrs. When my connection was still not updated by Monday (8th June), I called up the customer care. after providing my MDN number, the response was "Your details are not in our database yet. Contact the nearest webworld". On contacting the nearest webworld, they told me that since this connection was purchased from the net, and not through them, I have to contact the guy who gave me the connection. I called they guy up and he told me that everything is done and will take one extra day since there was a Sunday in between. But it was not activated again after 2 more days. On 10th June, when I called the guy up, he told everything is done and it should be working now. When I made it clear that it is not working, he agreed to check and call back. No call came back and when I called him up again, he told that the address proof I provided (a letter from my office) was not enough and he needs another one. I asked him why he didn't tell it while taking the documents and asked him to take back the connection and give me back my money. Then he told me that if I forward my rent agreement by fax, he will activate it within 1 hour. I decided to take one more chance, and did the same. But nothing happened and on next day when I called him he started evading my calls. I tried calling from my wife's number. Then he picked up. But when he came to know it was me, he disconnected and switched off his mobile. When no action was taken for further few days, I sent a detailed complaint to reliance customer care and higher authorities in Bangalore on 15th June. But still there was no action and after another week, now on 22nd June nothing has happened. Also in the mean tome, I tried to return the device at nearest webworld and get my money back. But they told that since it is not taken from there, they cannot give me my money back. Much more than the fact that I have not received the connection, it is the terrible support they provide that makes me write this here. After paying 3500 rupees and doing all these, I still don't know why my connection was activated and no one is even ready to explain it to me. |

Rep Power: 12 | Krishna, thats one typical Indian experience Reliance guys are giving you and unfortunately there is hardly anything one can do about these sick people. I had a hard time my reliance netconnect connection activated as well but fortunately I got it from the Reliance outlet here at Uttam nagar and some maa ki behen ki is all it took for them to activate it next day. The moral of the story in my opinion is Only buy from a shop where you have a few collars to grab on to if there is an issue.. as unfortunately good or bad one has to buy products and services to survive. I strongly suggest you should go to your nearest consumer court and file a complaint but before that you could try contacting Reliance customer service and thern Nodal officer.... send a few e-mails for starters. |

Rep Power: 1 | Even one of my family member had similar experience with Reliance WiMax connection. It is terrible to deal these sick Reliance people. I would not used any of ADAG product during my lifetime after listening these horrendous experiences. Above that they have problem with billing always. Even if you use 200 Mb data transfer they will show you 1 GB data transfer and will charge you accordingly. Beware of Reliance guys. |

Rep Power: 0 | Hi guys, Thank u for all the responses and suggestions. As admin suggested, I sent a mail to the nodal officer. But unfortunately there was no response to that also. Then I contacted a friend of mine and sent a semi-legal notice to the nodal officer and appellate authority in Bangalore. After that I got a call 2 days back saying they can activate the connection if i re submit the papers. I have been fed up with this entire thing and asked for a cancellation and refund upon this. They have agreed to cancel and refund the money by end of next week. But as always they haven't given me any complaint or reference number. So I am still not very sure.. anyway will keep u guys posted |

| Junior Member | hi, i also faced the same problem as krishna_27 when i bought my bb+ connection 3 days ago from a reliance webworld shop (nerul, navi mumbai). it seems that there is a mismatch between the RSN no. printed on the sticker on the box and the actual RSN no. printed on the modem itself which causes this problem. in my case, the webworld guys activated my connection with the RSN no. on the box and it wouldnt connect at all. the webworld guys at my place were very helpful and got it sorted after 3 days and ive just got my connection working today night around 9. the webworld guy who attended me said that the latest batch of the black huawei 1260 modems has this rsn no. prob and that their shop got 5 complaints till now. @ krishna_27, check if the rsn no. on the modem and box matches,if it doesnt, then you need to get your connection activated with the rsn thats printed on the modem. to get to customer care, what i did was selecting the sales enquiries option on the 1800 helpline and shouting at the person there, who then transferred me to the tech assistance people (but they were of no use whatesoever, as they told me to take modem to a huawei service center) |

Rep Power: 0 | Hi Guys, got some more update on the stuff. Actually it is a company called Vriti which is a channel partner of reliance who is selling these data cards in the internet. And majority of the crap is happening when u purchase through them. I had some more hassles and quite a few mail exchanges with reliance guys and finally yesterday (13/7/2009) evening i received a refund cheque from Vriti. But now the issue is slightly different. Around 1 hour after I got the cheque someone called me from Vriti office in Noida asking me not to en cash the cheque. He told it will bounce even if I en cash since the cheque is blocked. He took my account details and promised that by end of day the money will be credited to my account. But till today nothing has happened and now no one is picking up the phone at Vriti. I am planning to wait for 2 more days, then submit the cheque at my bank and in case of return of the cheque to take the matter legally. |

| CHEATED BY VRITI INFOCOM IN RELIANCE NETCONNECT BROADBAND+ RELIANCE NETCONNECT BROADBAND+ DISAPPOINTS. VRITI & RELIANCE NOT WILLING TO HELP BEWARE OF VRITI MDN Number – 093245 82590 Guys, unfortunately I also fell prey to the offer by “connectindia.in/Reliance-Data-Card” (Vriti Infocom) which comes as the first link if you do a search for reliance broadband netconnect. I submitted my details on the net & in turn promptly got a call from Ghanashyam (9654181072) call centre in Noida. Having agreed to subscribe, was referred to Dinesh (9920551022) a representative of Vriti in Mumbai. As agreed, a third guy Sameer (9870612868) came on 14/10/2009 and collected the form & cash of Rs 3500 from my residence at Wadala (East) – Bhakti park and promised that the connection would be activated on the same day. After rigorous follow-ups with reliance and Sameer, I managed to get the connection activated the next day but was of no use as I was not able to connect to the broadband network. Most of the time I could not find the broadband network or whenever there was network I got technical or other errors. I could connect only twice to the broadband network in last 2 weeks and that too with a maximum speed of 40-50 kbps Have been calling reliance helpline since then, but with no success. The calls to Vriti's persons went unanswered. Finally, I was told to visit web world to check for technical problems or to speak to network team for the network issues. Now comes the interesting part - on my final call to the customer care on October 24, 2009, I was told that my subscription has been SUSPENDED and the reasons being CONFIDENTIAL cannot be told to me by the customer care and hence, was advised to visit the reliance web world to understand the reasons. Though being in Reliance's web already, I went to the Reliance Web World at Veer Nariman Road, Churchgate to understand the reasons for suspension. After waiting for around 40 minutes for my turn to come, was told that even they are not aware of the reasons and "As a matter of Process" they need to write to the back office to understand the reasons, which obviously would require me to re-visit them after couple of days. Arguments around this brought a senior person () in to picture who finally managed to drop the bomb on me - I was told that Reliance has a exclusive tie-up with somebody called Shweta Communications for certain areas including Wadala (East) – Bhakti park and hence, Vriti was not authorised in first place to sell data cards in Wadala (East) – Bhakti park and hence, my connection being unauthorised has been suspended. Solution provided?? I was asked to go back to Vriti and return the data card, get my money back and apply afresh for a reliance data card with the web world (I assume that they were being sarcastic in expecting somebody to comeback to reliance again!) Asked if they can help me anyways - answer was a firm NO. On insistence - was given a telephone number of a nodal officer, which no body answered I requested the web world guys to register my complaint or give me in writing whatever they told me but they refused firmly. Their response was that they cannot help as it is not a problem at Reliance's end and I should go back to the vendor who sold me this card. The response from Reliance was very disappointing. Vriti being a channel partner for Reliance, they can’t just wash their hands off the entire matter by simply returning the customer. More so when they have registered the connection initially and activated the services I have been trying to contact the Vriti's team (Ghanashyam, Dinesh & Sameer) since then but with no avail. After dozens of failed calls, I wrote a stern message to the 3 guys, maybe which made Dinesh to answer my call. Response?? Ignoring his tone for the time being, he referred me to another guy called "Jay". On my refusal to speak to another guy & narrating the story all over again and on insistence on him speaking to 'Jay" directly or at the max we jointly speaking to Jay, the response which I got was “THATS IT!!" and the guy disconnected the phone. He did not answer any calls after that. What should I do?? I am currently contemplating a criminal complaint with police of fraud & cheating against Vriti Infocom, Ghanashyam, Dinesh & Sameer. Further a complaint in consumer forum on Reliance Communications, Vriti Infocom, Ghanashyam, Dinesh & Sameer to seek full refund of Rs 3500, termination of the post paid connection and damages. Further, there is no network coverage of broadband at my address contrary to the claims made by Reliance, entitling me to full refund on account of their inability to provide me the agreed services. MDN Number – 093245 82590 Would request you guys to suggest some good lawyers who handle such matters or suggest some tips or alternative remedy which you might think is viable. Lawyers - please feel free to contact me. PS – 1) I am ignoring currently the fact that I was given wrong information about the plans initially which led me to subscribe to the wrong plan. For this I managed to get a complaint registered with Reliance before suspension. 2) I have not been given a goa trip offer which was promised at the time of sale 3) Further, the broadband network in WADALA is pathetic and its not possible to connect to broadband anyways. |
