Thumbs down experience with activating Reliance Netconnect

Please think twice before going for this service, atleast in Pune.

Have reproduced the complaint I have made to the service assurance cell:
I applied for the connection on Saturday, 21 November 2009. As requested by Vijay your sales officer (9326708090), I gave a passport sized photo, a Xerox copy of my PAN card and a Xerox copy of my electricity bill. I also paid Rs.3500 and took the USB pack with me home. At that point of time, I was told that the service will definitely be activated by Monday (23rd November 2009) 7.30 p.m.

    Monday, 23 November 2009

11 a.m. onwards: I made a call to Vijay asking what is the procedure. He replied that one person will come and verify the address before 1 p.m. He would then forward the request, and only then it would be activated.

3.30 p.m: no one visited my house. My numerous calls to Mr.Vijay weren’t answered. He finally called at 4 p.m. saying he was in a meeting. When I asked him why no one had bothered to reply, he said that he is unable to get through to Vikram Dange (the verifier).

4.30 p.m: Mr.Dange finally visited the house and takes the details.

6.30 – 7.00 p.m.: Vijay told me that he would ensure that the activation will be done and he will personally call me up, latest by 7.30 p.m.

7.30 p.m : no call from Vijay. When I called up and enquired, he said wait for 5 minutes.

7.50 p.m: when I called up Vijay again, he replied that he was with a customer and would call me in 5 minutes.

Subsequent calls: either Vijay didn’t bother to pick up my call, or simply disconnected ( I keep getting a response that the number is busy).

    Tuesday, 24 November 2009:

Around 10.00-10.30: I visited the Reliance office at Bavdhan with the USB modem, and asked for my money back. I was directed to Mr.Rajendra Yadav (9371811777), Vijay’s boss. He called up Vijay and asked him the problem. Then he told me that the problem would be resolved today for sure by afternoon.

6.56 p.m: I get a call from Vijay. Vijay says that they need a permanent address proof (my driving license or passport). I ask why he didn’t tell me this on Saturday. He replies that he himself didn’t know that (???) and the service will not be activated today. I ask to speak to Mr.Yadav, who says even he isn’t aware. He assures that he will send his person to collect the Xerox from my office before 10 p.m.

    Until 10 p.m: Mr. Yadav’s person doesn’t turn up.

    Wednesday, 25 November 2009:

11.30 a.m: I call up Yadav and ask him what’s the problem. He says that he will send the person to my home for the Xerox. Also, the connection will be set up in the next 1 hour (12.30 p.m) by the same person.

12.20 p.m: no sign of the person. I again call up Yadav to ask what is the problem? He says the person will come in the next 20 minutes. When I ask when will the connection be activated, he gives a vague reply that it will be done today. He confirms that he will send the person to my home, get the connection done and confirm on my mobile.

12.45 p.m: Mr. Yadav’s person Nitin, comes and collects the Xerox.

4.45 p.m – 5.00 p.m: I personally visit the office and ask what is the problem. Again I get a vague reply about the non-availability of staff. I am told I will get the connection by today end-of-today.

6.30 p.m: another follow-up call. Same vague response.

7.00 p.m: same response. This time I categorically mention that if I don’t get the connection tonight, I want the deposit money returned tomorrow.

Till current time (10.15 p.m): no call from ANYBODY. No person visits home to install the USB.

In a nutshell, the only thing ‘reliable’ about you is your name. On the ground, your people just give false assurances, and don’t deliver any concrete results.

Nothing can replace the harassment I have undergone in these 3 days. Kindly return the money which I paid at the start of this ordeal. I will deposit the USB modem at your shop.

Default the problems with new connections.

    HI,
I have also faced the same problem.

    i am from pune (D.P.road , Aundh).

when i took the connection the reliance guy told that within 48 hours the service will be activated. but that didnt happen.

i called a couple of time (i.e 7 times) , at last i decided to go to the nearest reliance world.

when i went there i found the guy from whom i had bought the USB modem. he took me to the system officer and shown me my form. then i insisted to activate my connection right now. then he told me to wait , and entered all the info to the system. and informed me that ur connection has activated now.
i requested for a test there, and finally, they tested the device in-front of me . then only i took the breath and came back happily.

actually what i observed is, there is a regular procedure, since we are human beings, we did it with a bit lazy. thats the only problem.
i am not blaming reliance for it. cause when the the guy came to my home for the physical verification, i was not at the home, thats why they have not activated my connection.

but now its all settled and i am very happy with the speed.
    lets see whats happen
or hope for a better future with reliance broadband+ .

    thanks
    Malaya.
