Default Katz & Gmail issue with reliance wimax

Since last 2-3 days I am not able to open Katz. I saw a msg on Katz that they are waiting for their Memory update in the server after that things will be normal. But still I am not able to open while Katz is opening from my BSNL connection. So it seems that reliance has blocked.

Another thing is they have blocked pop3 access of gmail also since last 2-3 days. It was working since last 6 months. Upon calling their CC they inform me that u configure RIC Mail (reliance's own **** mail) after that gmail will work. Now i cant make out wat relevance ric mail has with gmail & that guy at CC is not willing to understand.....

Ne Reliance wimax user facing these two problems...than revert & I suggest if they face this, call their CC demand that they open up access to gmail & katz.

Cant comprehend wat they are out to prove by blocking.. why this kind of restrictions....i dont undestand why they are giving service....rather they should use for themselves only

I have gmail configured on my laptop and I just checked using my reliance data card and its working just fine... sending receiving all fine.

May be they have blocked on wimax.. for god know what reason.. I dont have wimax so cant check but this is for sure that their network is connecting just fine.

Katz opens aswell using their data card. (I use open dns so could be your DNS)

We have a few regular members here who have got reliance wimax connections who would be able to provide a first hand input

I ve never used pop3

But I have noticed that since monday, reliance has been messing with port settings. Im assuming it's to do with theire new servers that have supposedly been installed. In any case, my applications resumed working one by one within a couple of days each.

Oh I'm in Bombay, btw. ^_^

After my complaint I recd 3 calls from Bombay & one from local tech support & they resolved the prblem. They took 48 hours but solved it & after that they called for satisfactory working.

My friend complained abt usage & biling issue & they called him 8 times in 10 days for his problem and after resolvement whether things are ok or not..I am starting to get impressed with reliance cc...Hope they remain same !!!!!!!!!

In fact their local support ppl hv given their no. & asked to call them rather than calling CC. they said in that manner things will resolve fast (technical issues).
