    Technincaly u shud get 400/8 i.e. 50KBPS speed. Practicaly it will be somewhat less. Depends upon lot of factors. As u said there are two towers nearby u shud get a stable connection. Thing is not all towers are fitted with BTS (base tower station). And only those towers are capable for wimax which are with BTS.

    Talking great service{i didn't expect myself}

    i live in dhankawdi, pune . i took the plan 999 {400kbps unlimited} by wimax , 3 months ago , connection is best usually 42-50kbps minimum download speed , but i've seen speen upto 200kbps {marvellous} . customer care is also very good prompt in reply & solving problems. though there was problem 2-3 times , but customer care solved it & field officer also called. only once it went 1&1/2 days without connection , but i think , when nothing is perfect , how reliance could be. Overall in pune , reliance broadband is very economical for us students living together , & good response , good speed and fine connection ,three cheers to reliance wimax , since reliance modem was not available in my area , then it gave me so much satisfaction. Anyone having any query can mail at narendramodi17@gmail.com. bye.

    i have rel wimax 600kps connection for 1399rs/month +tax and the download upload speed around 70-90KB /s .u get more speed at nights ...connectivity is also good ,but the only problem it has that its a webpage login to connect to the net and if u dont log off and if u get disconnected u wont able to login again till it auto log u out may 1-2 hrs approx. i have been carefull to logout when not in use or keep my net connection active like pinging a site at 1 bit/sec as i keep my comp on the whole day...

    ping command is done by

    1) start menu >> run
    2) "cmd" <press enter>
    3) enter command: "ping www.google.com" and press enter to ping Google 4 times. You can change the url as required.

    You will get auto logged off according to the schedule on the reliance DHCP server. Your activity or inactivity has nothing to do with it.

    The service will be only logged off after 24 hours. It is only wen you are downloading, if ur system is idle i.e no download or browsing then it will be logged off in 3 hours

    They do. It's just that most users here are into heavy downloading. ^_^

    Its not that most users are in to heavy downloading. Fact is Reliance does not have a proper usage checking software for mb based plans. Usage does not get updated for 3-4 days. I have suffered twice on this count. I was more or less forced to convert my plan to unltd just because of that. So they have maximum billing disputes there and that is the reason they dont want to sell MB based plans.

    They ask dealers not to sell & advt data transfer plans.

    I am realy surprised that a giant like reliance cant put a proper software in place. If BSNL & You telecom has that capabilities where your usage shows up in 10-15 min, why cant reliance!

    I didn't say most users. But I guess you do have a valid point. I wish reliance and intel would just wrap up their wimax development properly and stop using us as guinea pigs!

    I know abt BSNL bcoz I have bsnl connection also. first 3-4 days is ok. but here in reliance it is same story for the whole month.

    when u chk ur usage on last day & see that you have 1gb remaining out of your alloted gbs, u start downloading that 1gb & realise when the bill comes that you have used 600-700 mb MORE. One will go according to the usage shown on the site which in fact is showing wrong usage, which has been not updated.

    So you are left with two options. either let go that remaining gbs which you are entitled to use (for which you r paying) or run a risk of over shooting your limit & land up spending more. I think all reliance wimax users those who are in data transfer plans will agree to this problem.

    I just got the wimax 400kbps ul connection a couple of days back..and I use bandwidth monitor to check my speeds and theyre very consistent hovering around 400kbps or more..usually never drops below 30KBps which is 240kbps.. I also ping well ( around 45-80, although i dont consider 80 decent:P ) to the only good source server in india :P.. My download speeds in utorrent are almost at a full 50KBps and I can browse with no problems whatsoever while my torrents are downloading while I couldnt do that with my previous pos tataindicom plug2surf.

    the maximum speed supported by your connection is 50 kBps. yet it is surprising that u are clocking such speeds on torrents + are able to browse the websites without any slowdowns. Are u sure u are on 400 kbps plan?
