Default Outlook issue with Reliance WiMAX

Hi,

There is an issue with Reliance WiMAX connection for outlook. So folks who want to use outlook, please note this.

You cannot use your official ID with Reliance wimax for free. For you to access your official ID you need to buy a static IP from Reliance for Rs.2000 a year and an SMTP relay for Rs.900 a year. So a additional Rs.2900 for a year and the usual monthly charges for you plan you choose.
If you want to use outlook, your email id will be your name at ricmail.

Sorry that I cannot put examples of email ID, since this is my first post and it seems that the forum does not allow to post URL or email ID before I have made 15 posts (Strange requirement)

Hi,

I said I the problem is with microsoft outlook. If you use Reliance Wimax, then you have to use rajesh@ricmail.com, but that need not be my official ID. If you need your official ID to work, you need to buy smtp relay and the static IP. You will face no problem with accessing mails for yahoo or gmail or hotmail.

Sorry for being offtopic. But the restriction of 15 posts was put a few months ago because we were getting a lot of spams on the forum. People used to register, put up goods for sale at attractive prices, post links to their websites, etc. We had to stop that somehow.

Yahoo & hotmail does not have POP3 access unless u hv their premium service. So no question of fetching ur mail thro OE or Outlook for these 2 service. Gmail allows POP3.

Wat do u mean by official id..is it ur co. id like rajesh@urcompanyname.com or what? I have hosted my company domain with yahoo. So my id is like anusheri@mycompanyname.com & I am using it successfuly.

By the official ID I mean my companies ID as pointed out by you rajesh@companyname.com. I am not sure about the domain hosting, but all I can say is that I was not able to send/recieve mails. Any ideas why this might be happening.
