what is 18- 19 is it the download speed and what is ur connection plan ......if u have 400kbps plan u should get close to 40-50kB/s download speed. if not the deployment of the wimax reciever is not proper.
its very low signal strength, as anusheri said it shoud be atleast 22, for me tower is very near and i get all the 5 dots![]()
signal remains about 64 which is the max![]()
how to u find ur wimax signal strength?
Log into your CPE and check the wimax status page where you will find all the values.
how to log in to cpe pls explain?
you need to go to internet explorer and then need to type the address of your cpe in address bar.
It will ask you for a username and password which you can get from reliance otherwise please post your cpe details so that we can help you with username and password of your cpe
So should i call wimax customer care and tell em to check my wimax signal?
What should exactly complain about? If i complain abt bad signal , they will ask if ur net is connected and if say yes they wont surely come to visit my place ? :\
hi ..i too have the same problem.. online gaming is very lag..my ip is 123.236.84.203..what is CPE means???????????????????/

my plan is 400k bps..every thing is ok but when it comes to online gaming it sucks..very laggy ..y it hapens even with high speed..and what s that cpe and how to enable interleaving ON>>>> pls help..
Isn't lag about the routing?
1) goto your LAN adapter properties. Set the following values:
IP Address: 192.168.1.2
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
DNS: 192.168.1.1
Save the changes, then Disable, then enable the LAN adapter to set the new settings immediately.
2) in your browser (opera / Internet explorer / Firefox ) enter the address
192.168.1.1

to above...
dude its not working if we change our ip to 192.168.1.2 ...itsnt working..wimax works for ip 123.xx.xx.x......it wont work for other ips...
192.168.1.1 is the address of the white box / CPE that reliance usually provides. This is responsible for assigning an ip to your PC. Hence, the format of the ip address will be 192.168.1.x Do bear in mind, that this is a local connection i am talking about, that lets you "look into" the whitebox. SO, to let both devices see eachother, they must have the same ip addres upto the 1st three fields.
The reliance web ip is on a different subnet. it doesnt let you access the CPE. If you set up your local connection like I'd shown in my previous post, you will be able to get it.
dude ur rite..it goes to login page..but i duno username and password..this is my white box cpe " PowerDsine 3001"...where to get usernmae and pass..and also what are the setting that i should do in cpe to play online games smoothly..thanks in advance...

if you'd searched the other threads in this forum, you'd have known this.
And there's nothing you can do to get games to run better. It's up the the company to set the routing.![]()
Wimax is pathetic for gaming ! Its routing sucks , It gives high ping and spikes a lot !
Its worse than hathway !
All gamers with wimax should complain to these relaince wimax ppl and hope they do somehting to improve online gaming experience!
Wireless systems are sucky for gaming. It's a rule. I've never seen a wireless system that allowed for smooth gaming. Even in wifi gaming routers.
Wimax is not that bad when it comes to strategy games, if you want to play fps games it's unplayable. But wireline connections are not that good in India either. I have a reliance wimax connection, and I get pings of 300-600 while playing age of empires. I think it is even worse for me because the signal I get at my place is really sucky. It hovers around 15 - 16. Recently I switched to 1000kbps plan of reliance and then realized that because of the signal problem it would not support that much speed, so had to swich back to a lower speed plan.
