yes you can use any router to connect 2 or more computers using reliance wimax connection. the only thing which you need are basic settings and if you want to connect on wireless then just put wireless setting in your wireless router and that's it

if you still face any more issues in router config then please update here with router details.

at maximum you can connect upto 254 computers on a wirless router but i will not suggest you to connect more than 30 system to one Type IV router.

    basic thing
    there are 255 IP address
1 assigned to system and we are left with 254 where one ip can be assigned to one system.
Please correct me if i am wrong

reliance, by default doesnt allow the connection of routers..because it checks the mac address and stuff.. but there are fixes for that..

but what i do is.. I have my Wii lan adapter which i hook up to my pc ( yea its got drivers too ) and then i hook that up to my WAN port on the router while my pc is hooked up to the CPE and setup internet connection sharing. This does not split the connection speeds between my pc, my moms pc which is on wireless, and her laptop while hooking up routers directly to the cpe after the aforementioned *fix* will split the connection. This way i get full speed to all pcs.. assuming im not hogging the internet on my own pc

yes reliance scans mac address for the network sharing device, better option is to use a router as it can provide you far much better features to connect

    thanks buddy
unfortunately i have to use the service for only 6 more months.
hence for me its not a wise decision to invest on a router.

Can any one advice me on precautions to take while installing switch?
    any one uses that?

Default Router for reliance wimax connection

I use an ASUS RT n10 wireless router. works out of the box.
its cheap too, at 1600 INR.

If you have been using your PC for sometime, the mac ID of the NIC will be mapped at reliance, in which case, you need to give it some time to clear out the mapping, before your router will get an IP via DHCP.

it took me close to 24 hrs , but it did work.
