Default Reliance Wimax in Pune

I apologize for starting a new thread if there is already a thread for this- but I couldn't find one here.

Anyway, just moved to Pune to this place called Vadegaon Sheri and my house is walking distance from Viman Nagar but I found out that nobody is serving my area via fixed line broadband.

I have the option of getting Reliance Wimax - any idea how this service is in this area? I have seen that a network tower is in Ramwadi Junction and this place is about a couple of KM from my house.

Any pointers about the connection- is it worth it? It seems to be a big investment. Any pointers would be much appreciated!!

the reliance wimax connection is good as far as Delhi is concerned.
That said i would suggest u to talk around and take feedback from ur freinds/collegues.

If they say good thing about it , goahead with the connection. I suggest a 400kbps unlimited plan.

U can also check out the tata indicom wimax as well, it seems good as well

First, check where is the tower located. The nearer the tower the better it is for the signal strength. Wimax is effective between 1-2 kms

Once the antenna is fitted ensure that you have more then 22 signal strength and you will be fine

Hello,
I am staying at Hadapsar area ( Near Kumar Picaso ) . I just took Wi-Max 400 KBps plan on 23 Feb .
It is working fine for me. My signal strength is 24.

May be you can call Pune . He is vendor for Rcom. He can update you on feasibility in your area.

Best of luck
