Default Uploading on reliance wimax

Not many people realise this, but Reliance Wimax has WAAYYY better upload speeds than all other ISPs. MTNL gives you a measley 25 KB/s for uploads, as do almost all other ISPs.

Now, while most people may not have any use for this, I thought about making use of my upload bandwidth too. I looked around for stuff I could do with my PC, and I finally ended up setting up a media server.

With Winamp Remote, I've managed to make my entire 75 GB music collection available online, at good bitrates too!!

I love my music, and this has literally let me carry my entire music collection in my cellphone, wherever I go. ^_^

[P.S. Another great use of an always-on, unlimited connection like wimax is setting up a web server. It's quite easy, and with a web server, you can keep all your important documents and files available for online access wherever you are. No more phoning your brother at home to mail your files to you when you're outside! Let me know if any of you guys want advice about setting up a web server. ^_^]

My upload speeds vary between 35 KB/s to 75 KB/s.
It's a decent speed to pull down a few songs and files from my PC if I feel the need. ^^

Oh, and I built my web server using this for help:

Its very true.. Reliance wimax upload speeds are marvellous.. Other ISPs gives only upload speeds equal to downloads to a max of 512KBps.

I am getting 190KBps(1520kbps) avg upload speeds in my connection.

tarius, Great idea. I never thought of setting up a web server from our own computer through Reliance Wimax Connection. I am using only 300kbps not too much considering your 75KB/s or 600kbps connection. But still it is great even for uploads.

I never had a good reason to upload. Thanks for sharing your experience. Need to check what all can be done with this.

But I am not aware of setting up a web server. Do we need a separate Operating System for this?

As far as I know this uploading issue was resolved long ago and there is no such problem with reliance wimax any more.
Reliance wimax customers... can you please confirm this?
