I'm guessing the way you have it set up is that the Wire from your roof connects to the POE adapter and then a wire from your POE goes to your home computer..
How is the X Box connected to the internet if you don't have a router? If my assumptions are correct then you probably need to get one and connect the POE to the router and from the router to your home computer and your Xbox.

yeah the wire from the roof comes to the poe adaptor n then from thr it goes to my comp
but then when i connect my xbox 360 to the poe adaptor the internet doesn't work on the xbox

ok so if i connect a router to my poe n then from there i take it to the xbox will it work? also can't i just replace the poe with the router??

well I'm guessing the issue is that Reliance DHCP is not issuing a IP to your Xbox... if you check the settings on the Xbox you should have it to acquire an IP automatically. even then Most of the reliance DHCPs have an issue with devices other than computers. Even if you get a router I advise you to clone your computer MAC to make the Reliance DHCP believe its a computer that its issuing the IP to. There are detailed postings on how to do that in this forum. No you cant replace the POE with the router. A POE is a Power over Ethernet device its function is to supply power to the antennae on the roof thats all . Its not a modem or anything. So the LAN cable from your POE will have to go to a router (preferably with your computer MAC cloned to it) and then to your comp and Xbox

You can also look up this article. It mentions PPOe but don't worry about that since you wont be using it with Wimax..

Whats the IP its getting if its a 169. something IP then its just a dummy IP wont work... you should get something other than that. Also even if you are able to get an IP you need to get to the reliance broad band home page first to login and then connect. I don't think you can do that with an Xbox... not sure.. especially since the Reliance home page needs Java to login.

Ok.. if the IP is rite, then everything should be fine. I have never tried to hook up an XBox so forgive me if I sound ignorant. Is there a browser you can use to get the reliance home page.. cause unless you get the Reliance login page you wont be able to connect...

hi here is the answer to yr problem
    For the xbox
You don't need a router!,you can connect straight thru from your PC/Notebook that has the internet connection by using ICS Internet Connection Sharing - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia).
I use the 3G connection on my notebook to connect to live
I also had similiar problems with IP address + dns etc
After hours of googling this page got me going......
Be sure to scroll down thru the Q&A as theres some good step by step troubleshooting in there also.

P.S Remenber you got to drop your firewall down if you use one.
If you still have no luck try posting down in the Console part of this forum, probably someone there that can help
