Default Worst of Worst Reliance Wi-max, please don’t go for Reliance Wi-max

    Hi ALL,

I took reliance wimax in June 2009. Took 1000 kbps plan because it was mandatory & I was informed that I can change the plan to 400 kbps after 15 days, paid Rs. 2977 including service tax & installation. Customer service is not ready to convert my plan to 400 kbps they r saying that I can upgrade my plan for more & can’t go less than 1000 kbps.
Daily calls r made to customer care for the speed problem, sometimes I get 18 kbps, 20 kbps, 50 kbps on an average I m getting 200 kbps. Downloading speed is the worst, Due to the slow speed problem customer care promised me that they will be adjusting the amount in the next month billing & now they r denying for the same. I have the screen shots of the speed that I m getting & the recordings of customer care. Would like to suggest u all not go for reliance wimax.

Reliance is specialized in running behind money rather than providing services.

    Thanks & Regards

You are advised to file a case in a consumer court. No ISP can dictate what plan a subscriber can apply for, unless it is classified under Business or Personal (as in case with BSNL).

However there could be conditions that state that you cannot change plan within a specified time.

IIRC, the minimum plan on Reliance Wimax for new customers (now) is 1000kbps.

Regarding changing to 400kbps later, well, I think that is typical Reliance Sales Speak.

If that is the case, the Reliance Wimax not only sucks but is a big looter as well.

I can tell ya that fighting a good case against Reliance will be difficult as it always point out some thing & you will definitely lose the case unless you are willing to spend much money. ( which you might get if you won the case).

Au contraire. I know of many consumer cases against Reliance in the consumer courts that have gone against the giant Reliance.

You need to have good documentation that's all.

If you have a case you can fight it. You must have the facts straight. The consumer court cases, 90% of the times, go in favour of the consumer. Search the net and you will get the evidence.

You do not need a lot of money to fight a consumer court case.

Look at the Whirlpool Fridge thread here.

I was talking 'bout case against reliance which I have found to be one of most honest corrupt company. Of course consumer courts are cheaper , but the case of this kind might continue later on in high courts .

    PS: DTIS.

I think that Consumer Court case results are not easily admittable in high courts.

But enough of this. Pointless to argue on the hypothetical.

I thought these cases were removed from consumers courts jurisdiction. But this case seem to be applicable to it. I searched some cases which took 2 years & consumer got paid Rs. 8000.
