Default Problem with Wimax Static IP with Router.....Pl Help !!!!!

    Hi

I have Reliance Wimax 1.2mbps with Static IP...My problem is when i enter IPs in desktop, it works good. But when I enter my Static IP, Subnet, Gateway and DNS 1, DNS 2, given by the reliance, in my Wireless Netgear or Lynksis Router, it could surf only for about 10-15 seconds and, thereafter, the connection is gone...there is no ping to the gateway so no surfing. If I turn the router off and than back on..same thing happens.

if anybody can be helpful to solve this problem, I would be greatly thankful.. Reliance guys checked the thing, but as usual, could not help

    Thanks

That happens because the LAN Interface of the Router and the Wimax SS is same (192.168.1.1).

Wimax SS LAN IP Can be changed, but this change has to be made each time the SS is turned ON, Hence change the LAN IP of your Router to 172.16.1.1 instead of 192.168.1.1

    Aidos!

Try the three options if your connection is same and can access this page.

Actually, there were 2 issues, the Static IP given by reliance had some problem at their part..so after my complaint and detail checking by them, they have changed my Static IP.

Was still getting no connection through router, than, I realised what you had advised (yeah.. there was a conflict of IPs ) as soon as I cahnged my netgear router IP...everything is UP & RUNNING..

    thanks guys for you help
