Thread: new connection

i applied for reliance Wimax today and the sales man told me to buy a router for the connection. he said that reliance don't supply routers because they are giving the antenna. if this is true which 1 to buy.

For reliance wimax you need 3 things
Cat5 4pair cable
Wimax subscriber station i.e antenna
Poe power over ethernet device which powers the dish
And if you need wifi then you to purchase it yourself the three things i mentioned will be given to you when they install the connection.

If you have a single computer desktop
Reliance will supply all needed stuff.

If you have a laptop and need to use it in wifi mode
( without any wire connection ) you will have to buy a
wifi router such as Netgear WGR614V9 cost around Rs 1500/=

NO YOU DON'T HAVE TO BUY ANYTHING to use internet from wimax, just plug the cable into your lan card which is coming from data in port and enjoy surfing!
