    Default Strange results using Reliance

I just got me self a 1 mbps connection. If I use youtube or download any software from download.com I get an average of only 20 kb/sec

If I use a download manger or a torrent client which essentially can run multiple threads I am able to get 90kb/sec in total.

I was wondering what could be the problem here ?

    Thank you in advance
    Cheers,
    Vishal

WIMAX connection depends on signal strength.
Find the best orientation for your Antenna. to Reliance tower.

    Is it Innomedia model ?
    for speed upto 1 Mbps
    max possible D/L speed 128 KB/sec or 128 kB/sec
( a 1 MB file can be downloaded in approx 10 seconds )

Browsing speed depends on the web site./etc.
Download via browser can be slow compared with download Manager/s
    Try Google Chrome or Opera.

I can't link directly as the forum cms is saying I don't have sufficient posts to do so.

I think the connection is pretty good when doing the speed test but then why does youtube download so slowly at only 20K ?

What speed do you get on youtube on ur wimax connection ?

    Cheers,

If you use streaming video, like you tube, reliance wimax is slow. if you keep the PC on and your IP lease does not expire when they would like it, the speed reduces again. flat speed claims; myth I say.

SWITCH TO ANOTHER ISP... RELIANCE SUCKS BIG TIME..

I have been using reliance wimax... [351887201606] just switchet to tata.
    reliance ping time 200ms
    tata ping time 100 ms
reliance maintenance at least 3-4 days a month.
tata no downtime yet for 1 month.
reliance cc dumb monkeys with pre-assigned response.
tata people are at least eager to solve the problem.

sorry, I have no Idea about the availability.. actually other people manage the connection now.. (from my company..)
basically wimax quality is mostly about how close the tower is to your house..
(I had a very bad experience from reliance.. basically how all that matters for them is only money)
