    Default frequent disconnections.. please help

    my reliance wimax (mumbai) gets frequently disconnected..
    i've been facing the problem since 31 march.
    after numerous calls to reliance customer care, and their incompetence to solve the problem, I decided to try troubleshoot it myself;

    also, the service engineer finally visited yesterday, he changed something..

    Angry after trying for 2 months to fix the issue I am giving up!!

    the story is,
    I am working in IIT Bombay R&D for a website we require Internet connection,
    as IIT provides Internet for only surfing purposes, our project had a Reliance Wimax connection before I joined.
    the connection was working fine but in Feb we started facing connectivity issues.
    net gets disconnected as I mentioned earlier.
    We called customer care multiple times, but the complaints we logged were closed within 24 hrs, and the only details they could provide was the resolution ID.
    over the period the local engineer (ASLAM) called numerous times giving us time he will visit, but never visited at that time, once we got a call from him around 5'th MAY (1 month after our 1'st complaint) at 2 P.M. he said he is in the institute, so we got here as soon as we could.
    He changed some settings in the antenna via telnet, and claimed "you won't face any problem till next 6 months, it is my guarantee" (net was off within 6 hours.)
    even when he was told from nodal office he did not visit.
    we had also called nodal office multiple times, after that but was of no use,
    he finally got some time on 27'th and decided to visit, but I was at dadar then, I told him I can't be there immediately and probably other people would be out of the lab to eat. (if he would have informed earlier I could have been there.)
    he said he will see if anyone is in the lab and close the complaint. (latter I found out that he had reported it as engineer visit -as if he had done some work.)
    finally yesterday I visited the nodal officer in navi mumbai.(he had no idea of my previous complaints given to the nodal office).. he made some calls to find out who is responsible for our region .. latter he ended up calling aslam's boss;confirmed with us the engineer visit for today at 10:30 AM; tilak chaterjee (nodal officer) claimed "there is problem in the antenna, the antenna occasionally catches signal from other BS (base station) causing interference."
    today at around 1 PM the engineer visited. (two and half hour late.) he did some similar settings as he had done previously. latter he said "if you want better service you pay me extra charges like other customers do to get fast service." (he probably thinks only one visit per month is what he should give in his salary.)
    when I notified nodal office about the same he started saying "I was not serious..."
    "the BS is facing some problem that's why you get locked out of the sector."
    he eventually called someone and latter said.. "even my boss said if the customer wants to disconnect let them disconnect."
    I think reliance should show some professionalism and if need be replace the BS.
    for 2 months we are paying reliance in full billed amount but they are unable to provide a reliable connection to us and above all they don't bother if we unsubscribe although they have accepted the problem is at their end.
    neither they bother to send other engineer, nor change any equipment, nor keep the complaint open till it is solved,nor open the same complaint again .(as doing so if the complaint is open for more than 3 days they have to refund cost for 7 days, so they just make sure to close it before 3 days... probably without doing anything.!!!)

    all in all PLEASE DON'T GO FOR RELIANCE INTERNET.

    Mayur,

    I am one of those reliance wimax customers who has been through it all, seen it all.

    Trust me, it isnt worth the trouble. They dont care about their customers, and will not even give a rats a$$ if you call them up.

    I have been using their connection in Bangalore for more than 3 years now, and has lost my patience with them and is disconnecting.

    I am talking to some BSNL chaps for their newly launched wimax connections, and if there is even a remote possibility of getting it, I will go for it.

    All reliance does is, send you a bill and call you up 15 times asking u to pay the bill before the date is due.

    Get a different ISP.

    yep; yesterday itself I have logged a request to disconnect.. (I had to convince my boss for it.. so it took that long. + now for 10 days there is work going on at their BS; so connection is down, when we call they just give a 4 hour deadline.... [for past 120 hours] I guess reliance ppl live in stone-age they can't read time!!! or are dumb enough to not able do simple maths.)
    let's hope ki woh ab picha to shayad jaldi chodenge..
    BTW, we got a new tata wimax connection.. which seems good.
