    Default Reliance wimax in Delhi

Has anyone got a Reliance wimax connection at Newdelhi?

I am looking for a few reviews please.

I would like to know if the connection drops every now and then like guys who have reliance wimax at Bangalore have reported in some threads... and does it cause problems when you log in as some members have reported that there is a massive ip assigning issue as they are out of new ip's more often then not.

Is this so called uploading issue at Newdelhi as well?

And the last thing is has anyone got this connection at Uttam nagar or Vikaspuri or even Dwarka?

Your valuable inputs will be much appreciated.

    Thanks

But i must tell you that there has been NO disconnection whatsoever till date... got the sh%^ connection 7 days back. There is no ip issue too... The antenna syncs and is ready to use in bout 10 mins.

The download speed is always above 150kbps (i have 150 kbps unlimited plan). So i'm just using it to download all friends episodes thats bout 46.5 gb till i disconnect it at the end of the month if this issue is still not resolved.

I have lost the recipt that guy gave me...

    Default Stay Away from IT

I am using Reliance wimax internet (300 kbps @ Rs.999) from 07th June, 2008 ......... service is bull ****, no consistency in connection and even my connection was installed in 8 days, while they told me that they just need 3-5 days maximum. ......... when u open 3-4 windows of internet explorer.... it will like hang ur computer.... and when u'll try to mail ur file will be hopefully upload, lol ......... so for all people who r thinking to book RELIANCE WIMAX i would say,,,,,,,,,,,,,, STAY AWAY from it xxxxxxxxxxxx

    @yogesh333

Actually 3-4 internet explorers hanging your computer is YOUR OWN computer's problem.

Regarding the consistency, u shud check the signal strength. The cinr shud be greater than ~23 and rssi shud be less than ~-60. If its like this then u shud have no problems regarding consistency.

I have been using the connection since day 1 without even a SINGLE disconnection.

    @Admin

This is the agent i got my connection from : Universal Broadband Services : 9911926677, 9868546809. You shud block the cheque that you sent earlier to them.
Even mine's not cashed as of today.

And yes do check the signal strength when the guys come to install the connection.

Thanks for moving the thread. And the connection is still uploading at greater the download bandwidth after 26 hrs!!

If you want i can provide even more nos... think this wud b enuff though...

This is the latest speed test.

Just do the speed test when the guys have installed the connection... hopefully u won't have the upload problem, else just put in a few complaints and it will be sorted out.

i applied for the connection on 13th may. the sales person collected the docs and cheque and vanished. after 13/14 days two guys came to my place and installed the antenna etc. then they told me that reliance ppl will call me up and give me the static ip details within two days and then i will be able to use the connection. there was no call from reliance for 7 days , then i called the sales guy again and then he told me that it will take another 2/3 days to get the ip address. when i called up customer care they told me that they did not have any details about my connection and suggested i call up the sales coordinator on . no body picks up the phone on this no.
i called up the sales guy again and after much shouting and arguments he gave me the number of his boss and pleaded not tell him that i collected the number from him. after calling the boss he assured me that somebody from the technical dept will call me up. again after waiting for 1/2 days suddenly a received a call from a guy who told me that he is calling from reliance tech dept and gave me my static ip address and dns details. when i asked him what is my subscriber id he told me that he has no idea about it. i configured the pc with the given ip address etc and lo the net started working and i was able to surf.

The connection speed is good. not faced any upload issues yet. Using 300kbps flat fee plan

but i still dont know my subscriber id etc. after talking to customer care(?) they say they cant help me or register any complain until i tell them my subscriber id. but no body from reliance has ever provided me any subscriber id. so i am a subscriber of reliance without an id i have mailed to broadband@relianceada.com several times and every time they write back that someone will be in touch with me very soon.

Buddy they shud have provided you with a copy of the registration form. on it are all numbers. Also i don't have any idea how u are able to use the net without logging in... as logging in also requires the subscriber id. So u dint get any kind of a written receipt whatsoever??

The first time login requires subscribe ID or the user id
    that is the ID

also when the installation is complete the engg will give you a form and that form will have all the details

as u hv static ip plan it does not require authentication...& they dont provide subscriber id in this plans. otherwise ask for customer account no. reliance ppl call it CAN. u can find CAN on ur bill. In reliance system CAN is the most imp no. they will be able to find all ur detail if u provide them this no.

at last i received a call from reliance ho mumbai. they provided me the user id and other relevant details like CAN and BAN. I do not require to log in to surf. they told me that the plans with static ip do not require to log in with user id. any way the connection is working fine and i have not faced any disconnection yet.

biggest plus point of reliance wimax is it is connection. No disconnection. Using since last 3 months not a SINGLE diconnection. rock solid. speed never a issue. my bsnl connection now & than hv speed issues but never reliance.

only thing they hv to improve is their CC & mentality. U can expect a call for bill payment but never for support issue.

    Thumbs up Good connectivity

    Hi All,

This is my first post to this site,
I have a reliance wimax connection which i am using since one month, before booking this connection i have gone through different sites to check the reviews about Reliance Wimax. Reviews were scary indeed but i had no choice but to opt for this one coz was fed up with my previous connection from Tata Indicom and Airtel was not available in my area. I am using this reliance connection and its really good so far. Downloading songs and some course materials with ease@ 25-30KBPS. I am on 300Kbps@999 plan.
I would like to mention one thing here that the installation guys of RWimax are not that competent they took about six hours to install the connection after making bulk call to their senior. I am still to face the CC of Reliance Wimax hope this never comes.

I can conclude here that may be i am one of the lucky ones but this Wimax thingy is worth a try for sure, if you cannot get airtel.

    Regards,
    Ved

It is not that they are nt competent. They must b searching for the signal, and from which direction they get the best signal strength. Sometimes if Reliance cell site tower is in Line of Sight (LoS) than things becomes very easy from them & job is done in 30 min flat, otherwise it takes hours. U shud b grateful that they spend 6 hours to search the signal or some installation team will just declare ur place NON FEASIBLE after some efforts.
