Angry Facing problem with Reliance wi-max

Hi,

I took the Reliance WI-MAX broadband connection(999 plan with 300Kbps) just 2 weeks backs. In the 1st week there was no problem. Since last week am facing problem in connectivity & speed.

Following are some of the problems:

- reliance broadband page opens & my login is successful. But no other website opens.
- broadband works fine for some 5 to 10 minutes. But after that the connection just hangs, means, if i click any link it doesn't open the corresponding web page. Even if i try opening any web page by typing the URL, it doesn't open. The browser window is just blank. I tried logging out of the reliance website & logged in again. But it didn't help.

i raised complaints thrice. They just closed the tickets(status:resolved) without my knowledge. Customer care is useless.

Has anyone faced similar problem?
Any solution for this?

I think you are facing the legendary upload bw issue with reliance
Check what is the upload bandwidth using speedtest.net

if it is in single digit raise a complain that your upload bw is less, this is a known issue with reliance wimax

Also login in to the router on the 192.168.1.1 and check the signal
what is the signal strength you are getting? if it is below 20 then you will keep having problems like this

Thanks a lot for the info !!

I have raised so many complaints. For most of the complaints Reliance try to resolve them remotely by calling me over phone from Mumbai (I am in Bangalore). Nothing helped.

Finally a technician has come to my place & verified it. The connection was fine in his laptop. I couldn't debug what was the problem in my PC. So i re-installed the OS in my PC. Now the connection seems to be fine.

my learning:
If the signal strength is fine, then problem could be in the PC itself. We can verify it with another PC !!
