Friends - let's share general experiences about Reliance Wimax in this thread.

It seems the threads are always a mix of users communicating from different zones. User-experience from Bangalore cannot be as useful to a potential user in Mumbai as would be user-feedbacks from Mumbai (since the infrastructure and manpower vary a lot between different places).

Mumbaiites using Reliance Wimax - please share your woes and jubillations. Preferably mention your local area in the beginning of your message (eg. "Rel Wimax at SV Road, Malad West").

Reliance Wi-max @ Mumbai, Malad (West), Orlem... Connection speed OK but Very very Bad Customer care and Tech Support.... if connection goes bad then only GOD can help u... cause the CustomerCare - cares **** about Users and their Problem.... the Tech Support most of the time call after 24hrs of filing of complaint, so if internet goes DOWN (may GOD forbid that) then in most cases u can forget about it for atleast day or two...

The tech support is the worst that I have ever experienced. So far I have called helpdesk 7 times each day every day and I have collected 7 complaint numbers to no avail.

AND I have got Reliance WiMax installed 8 days back and I have not been able to surf 1 minute on it!!!! so you can imagine......

I will be filing a consumer court case against them!!!

if possible try filling negative comments only their online feedback form... It really worked for me... it might also work for u too...

The connection has been good so far. Constant speed of around 68-72 . I am using the 600 kbps unlimited plan.

Connection not installed @ my house still I got d bill for d period 15th- 22 July generated on 23 July, I m not going to pay d bill. I've given termination request of my account on 4th August, got a call from CC exective that unless I pay my bill, they r not going to close down my account, what should I do now?

Threaten them back with a consumer court case. You have valid reason to complain. You cannot be charged for no service.

Filing a consumer court case is easy. Just requires an affidavit on Rs. 100 stamp paper. Ask admin, he has done that against Whirlpool.

We need to fight for our rights or others will bully us.

I m really frustrated after lodging complaint so many times for a waiver, they r closing my complaints w/o providing solution.
I m in 400 kbps/ 999 plan.
Got this connection from Mindwave telecom, Jogeshwari, Mumbai.
Already paid 500 cash, I don't demand my money back but I want to stop billing cycles in order to live with peaceful mind in future, I've heard company sends letters from advocate of high court if v dont pay d bill and may lodge case against me, thats d worrying issue!hmy:

Before lodging the case, first prepare a written complaint. In the complaint, state that:

a) You paid Rs. 500 for connection.
b) You never received a connection. No installation, etc., etc.
c) Then you mention why you are asking for non-connection.
d) Mention that there is no question of paying the monthly bill when no service has been provided.
e) Insist on termination of service and refund of Rs. 500 as there was no installation/service.

Make a duplicate and visit the nearest customer care. Visit the regional manager and get a received stamp/signature on the duplicate.

Tell the manager verbally that unless this is done immediately, you will file a case in consumer court. Visit the 'Whirlpool Fridge' thread in 'Offtopic' forum for more info on how to file a consumer court case.

Thanks a lot! First I'll wait for some days, hoping they'll disconnect it, Because today I called CC, that CC boy transfered my call to his senior, I shouted at lengths, she told me 360 hrs(15 days) from d registration of ur termination request, So I should wait till d end of this month.

Also 1 thing I would like to tell u, I paid installation charges in cash, I haven't recieved any reciept, I have d full address of d DSA from whom I took this connection, is this info sufficient?

Since there is no record of Rs. 500/-, you may have to forget about it. I feel very bad about this.

But in future - be careful. First of all, never pay in advance. If this is a must always insist on a receipt. Never pay cash - pay by cheque instead.

Ask ur vendor for receipt. It is his responsibilty to provide that. And that receipt is part of the form u filled up. There is a small tear off portion which is that receipt. Threaten him if he does not provide that u will make him also as the party in consumer court case. I am sure he will definetly provide as he wud not like to come in the case between u & reliance. And in ne case even if u r not able to produce the receipt it is a FACT that reliance guys will not install the connection unless u have paid rs. 500/-.

I recieved call from installation dept. Atlast they agreed that they've committed mistake in installation procedure and forwarded my case to bill dept. for waiver, now my allotted user id will be deactivated in few days. Finally I m tension free, huush..

But they r saying to fill d form again,they promised this time they wont commit any mistake, but I firmly rejected d offer. No more contacts with Reliance. What do u think guyz, should I go for connection again?? As in any case, I m not gonna get my 500 Rs. back.

As it is pre installation cancellation u will definetly get ur money back. Be ready to wait for min. 45 days. Mind well dont follow up with the CC guys as they will be in total dark. Keep ur follow up with the vendor as it is his responsibility. Dont loose ur patience, just keep pestering him.

I also call it pulling at the short sleeve. Try pulling the sleeves of someone's shirt really hard. See how irritating it gets.

As far the Reliance situation goes, it is your call. Do you have other options? If not, then what will you do?

In developed countries like UK and US, although living standards r very high and people have d capacity to pay extra; in such countries also u'll find 24 MBPS unlimited internet for monthly fee of just 8-10 $(400- 450 Rs.)

Not talking at all abt countries like china/hongkong, where its just 100-200 bucks for unlimited net

But in countries like india, we never get plans like 2 MBPS unlimited, we get plans like 400 kbps @999 Rs, 150 kbps @750 Rs. World is living with GBPS, we are lagging behind with kbps, What ****? When will this improve?

I've switched to reliance after suffering from tata indicom for a year and a half. But it's only been 10 days and I've already got 3 complaint numbers. I have the 400kbps@999/- plan and was getting speeds of 50kBps when it WAS connected. But over the last 4 days, it has dropped to 300kbps (37kBps). No matter how many times I call their customer service, there's no change in the speed. Is anyone else facing this issue?

No, I'm from Mumbai. I've been using Tata indicom wired connection and switched to reliance wimax now.

I have been using Reliance WiMAX for last four months...... and touchwood, its never been bad...... I am happy I am out of Tata Indicoms - both wired and USB...... Both were horrible....... I read a couple of posts regarding Customer Support...... I wish I dont have to seek their support cos reading all these posts has been scary...... Most of them pertain to support and services...... They are for sure not responsible..... I spoke to them twice and they said they'll come back with a feedback...... They never did......!!!

By the way, has anyone tried connecting a Linksys WRH54G wireless router to Reliance's WiMAX??? If so please help me do it..... I've already posted another post seeking help under some other heading but it would easy to co-relate with someone who has done it for Reliance WiMAX in Mumbai.......

i have seen so many people complaining about wimax. i applied for reliance wimax the agent said it will take 2-3 days for installation but after multiple calls to the agent ,and the installations people for 15 days they are not saying when they will come to install the connection.so i email the details to custcare of reliance and after 1 hr i got a call that they will come to install the connection tomorrow and they did come the next day ...they did the installation .i had applied for 600kbps connection and was happy with the speed and connectivity.i was getting 70 -90 kB download and upload speed .....i had faced problem with the password because i did some changes in my profile in reliance portal .so i called custcare (useless people) and i got and idiot guy , told him my problem that i cant logon to net . he said it will take 72 hrs just to reset my password ,3days just to reset a pass dumb guy , i discoonected and called again they resetted my password that instant and i was able to logon to the net .anyway i am happy with the speed and the connectivity.

hi iam a reliance wimax user 600kbps connection .i had applied for wimax through their distributors .i filled the form and gave them the cheque.and they said it will take 2-3 days for the connection to be installed so i waited but no use so i kept calling the agent and the distributors for past 15 days they say high demand etc crap.so i got bugged and emailed to reliace cust care and at the same time also emailed the same mail to the disributors ans within an hour they called and said they will installed it tommorrow and they indeed installed the next day. any way i am happy with the speed and the connectivity getting 72- 80 kB download or upload speed.but once i faced a problem to login to the net as i made some changes in my profile in the relisnce portal.so i was getting authentication failed .so i called custcare a dumb guy answered (useless) . and he said it will take 72 hrs for it to resolve.3days to reset a password how long will it take to fix a major problem.so i disconnected and called again and they reset my pass that instant .anyway so far no problem with the net .

I fiilled the form with some dealer of reliance. he told me that connection will be provided within 7 days. I was under the impression that it would take more than 7 days..but voila installation was done on the 4th day itself..the enginner said that it wud have been on 2nd or 3rd day but due to the "terrorist attacks" in mumbai the service was slowed down a lil..


so Day 1 of 400Kbps internet...zip zap zooomm.....a constant 50+Kbps...5Gb data in one night..

But there were probs on day 2-3 with no internet connection on day 3..i was furios abt the fact that no net instead of paying 1000 bucks.,.....called CC ...they told that the BTS was down , and it would take 6 hrs to start....
but even 6hrs later services were not restored.

But the next day morning..net started along with full swing with no dc in between.....
RIL wimax rocks till date.....

Please don't go for Reliance WiMax. I have previously this connection and for first couple of months it ran fine as well. But from last one month onwards it has become become the worst. It was disconnecting very frequently like after every 10 minutes. If you call customer care they will pick up ur call after 10 mins, and after picking sometimes they will not log any issue or any ticket for that. Will give you BAKWAS reason. If they by chance lodge ur complaint, no follow up, no resolution will be taken, if you call again with this complaint number they will say the complaint already resolved and closed. This way it will make u so much frustrate that u hv to go for other connection.

My request to all of you, DON'T GO FOR RELIANCE WiMax.
