    Angry Reliance Wimax Problem

    Hi all,

I've taken the latest 400kbs (999) plan, and it's pissing me off big time.
What is this crap about "logging out" each time you have to disconnect?
If I switch off the comp, or pull the plug out, or if there's a power-cut... the connection doesn't resume by itself and it takes hours for it to reset.
Restarting the receiver doesn't help either.

I tried calling the customer care but instead of providing me with the solution, they logged a complaint and gave me a ticket number.
Has any of our forum members faced this problem?

    Help please!
    Anupam

p.s. Otherwise the speed is good. I get ~45Kb/s download speed.

If power goes & ur machine restarts u dont hv to login again. (this is when there is a power fluctuatation). But for a prolonged power outage u will hv to login again as ur dynamic ip leased out to u will expire. If after restart ur lan card does not resolve the ip than disable the lan card & enable again. This may solve ur problem. Another trick is first power on ur PoE & than turn on the machine. Sometimes ur subscriber station (SS) will take more time to resolve the ip at that time best is to wait for 5-10 min & try again.

i have tried this and this does not seems to work every time
this happens as when the BS gives the IP it reserves it for some particular time
if u loose the IP due to power down situation then you will have to wait for that time the IP assigned expired because the BS will not be able to give another IP for the same MAC address.

I use a laptop, so it doesn't restart at powercut. Should I restart my laptop too?

I don't even get the login page when this problem occurs. My LAN shows "limited connectivity".

Disabling and enabling lan card should work probably. There's some conflict somewhere... Airtel/BSNL never gave me this problem. Reliance should correct this.

This "limited connectivity" issue is bcoz reliance ppl give u DHCP & when it is not able to resolve the ip..u will face this problem. Enable/disable is one thing another is restart ur lpatop & if ne thng does not work wait for some time. I hv faced this problem quite no. of time & everytime either of one of the trick has worked so never had a chance to call their CC. (lucky me).

As for power cut ur laptop does not restart but ur Poe will restart & this Poe gives power to ur dish. & Garden boy has also explained correctly why u hv to wait for another IP..
